Personal Narrative: My Death Of Percy Jackson

Improved Essays
"Cause everybody's got a dark side, would you love mine?" I repeat these lines in my head as I think about how no one would ever love me for who I am if they found out what I had done. I, Percy Jackson, had murdered countless of people for all the wrong reasons. But it is my job to kill the people I have been assigned and never feel guilt afterwards. When I was 13, my mother died. I was alone in this cruel world. I had to provide for myself, so I joined an underground organization. One where I had to kill people I was assigned to earn money, and it was a decent amount earned for each person.
I look at the man that was laying on the ground next to my old pair of converse that was stained with droplets of blood. Ugh, I need to wash my shoes

Hawaiian Punch full of Rum and something else. Boy, did I have one hell of a hangover the following day! Another guy walked into the barracks later that afternoon and asked if anyone wanted to rent motorbikes and drive over to Phoenix City, Alabama (which was considered to be the danger zone). Deciding to get out for a while, we went to the bus stop and took a ride to the bike rental shop in downtown Columbus, Georgia. Taking off over the bridge to Alabama to see what all the fuss was about, we ended up at the bars in ‘Combat Alley’ We checked them out just long enough to get an idea that the area was no big deal, before deciding to ride back to downtown Columbus, feeling a little better on the return trip.…

Today, thirty-seven years ago, I died. Everyday I watch people walk past mine and my friends' monument. They are laughing, talking, and most importantly here and alive. The other day, a couple of adolescent boys vandalized our monument by spray painting and leaving trash everywhere. Children often sit here on top of us while eating their lunches.…

Joseph Campbell, the creator of the hero’s journey, did a lot of research on ancient mythology. He discovered that many heroes travel the same paths to becoming a hero. Campbell decided that heroes come across many challenges that are put into stages and in those stages the hero grows closer to the reward at the end. I am definitely not a hero, but my journey of finding Christ and giving my life to him has absolutely made me into a better person overall. As I look at my journey of finding Christ, I see that it has many similarities to Campbell’s Hero’s Journey.…

My first experience with death occured when I was 4 and my great-grandfather died, although I was not that affected, as I was too young to really know what was going on and I wasn´t really close with him in the first place. I remember being a young girl, about age four. I walked down the grassy slope where granite plates lay in the expansive field engraved with names. There was my whole family, gathered around a wooden box situated in front of a statue of Mary. I had no clue why everyone seemed so depressed, the sky was a clear deep blue and the grass was greener than ever. At the time, I thought my family had gathered at a park.…

A death of someone is never easy to handle, especially when it’s someone you truly care about. Growing up, the subject of death was never really concealed from me. My parents were very upfront about it and taught me that it is part of life. I have experienced multiple deaths throughout my years, both of family and nonfamily members, but only 4 of them really impacted me and taught me lessons. I wouldn’t say that these experiences of death has made me numb to it, but has shaped the way that I handle and look at death.…

As I tried to concentrate on the dying being, something leapt over me unexpectedly. I— “Megan, time for dinner!”…
