My Day as a Floating Student Nurse at Vibra My day as a floating student nurse was fun, educational and motivating. I spent time with representatives of several modalities and observed how each piece of the puzzle fits with the other for the care of patients at Vibra. It went so fast and I wanted it to last longer. I wanted to gain as much knowledge and insight from my mentors as possible. Vibra has a great interdisciplinary team that works for the patient’s success. I started my morning out at Telemetry with Kay. She was professional and took her job very seriously. She was very patient and kind in her methods of teaching me how to read strips, locate the P, QRS and T waves, and decipher what a strips meant for the patients. I can say that this was my favorite interaction of the day. The respiratory therapists are an integral part of the interdisciplinary team. He met me on the fly and said come on, we are going to do some trach care. I was nervous and unsure but he was supportive and didn’t let me back down. He explained things in an understandable way and fostered independence with his teaching. Once he knew I could complete a skill accurately he would let me take a “supervised” lead on trach care. His knowledge, fun attitude about work, and his passion for helping people was contagious. I am so glad I spent the day with
