Inner Boston Harbor's Thompson Island is a gem of an easy access spot if you're looking for fishing the flats for striped bass or deeper and structured-waters on the same plus bluefish. Access is good: kayak fishermen can use the little-more-than-a-mile-from-the-island hand-carry at City Point, ditto the ramp at Malibu Beach, Neponset for powerboaters with trailers with four-wheel drive. In addition to flats fishing on the island's back side, Thompson holds within its contours two tidal marshes and a large sandbar and bunker that connect the island to Squantum's Squaw Rocks mussel beds at low tide, themselves a good bait source. And because most anglers prefer Boston harbor's outer islands, the Brewsters and so on, or the Faun Bar off Deer…
A place where I feel the most content is Ruth Lake. I feel the most content at Ruth lake because the sound of the birds chirping, the water splashing, and kids screaming. I love swimming in the cold water, and fishing. I love going tubing and staying with my Grandpa at his cabin. When i go to Ruth Lake the first thing I do every time, is go on my paddle board.…
I believe that I will be comfortable working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. I will have a certain level of flexibility in functioning with different group of people. This is because my most of the profile dimensions are in the middle of the extreme ends. This means that I can easily adjust in any kind of environment. On comparing my Cultural Profile with my home country's plot, I found that there is a very close relation between them.…
When I was 9-10 years old I lived with my mom, dad, and sister in Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania. Lake Ariel was a small town where all you would see is corn, fields, and woods. We had lived in this house for two years and I had a good group of friends that I had met from school or extracurricular activities. I attended Western Wayne Hamlin elementary school and was in fourth grade. The school district was huge, covering six townships, but my school was small.…
My Culture I am a mix of two cultures. I am half Mexican and half American. Even though I am half Mexican, my spanish isn’t good. I can’t speak spanish fluently and I tend to strudder a lot. My spelling is pretty bad too.…
Going through small private schools in a little town since I was in kindergarten has set me up for very few cultural experiences but my parents never wanted my siblings and I to grow up like this. When my family goes on vacation my mom always tries to fully submerge us in the culture around us. For example, a few years ago, my family and I went on a vacation in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico. We stayed in a nice resort and it was never necessary to leave the property if you didn’t want to. Most people never did.…
I believe that my personal background, and my success despite the adversity that I have faced is an essential part of who I am. The first of my struggles came from being born to two teenage parents without at least a high school education, and although my mother went on to get a GED and to college my father did not. Many people in my family had issues with substance abuse and addictions including my father. Although, I was raised by my mother and grandmother, my father’s actions and behaviors negatively impacted my life. My father was verbally and mentally abusive to the people around him, especially when he used alcohol.…

All my life I was confused with my identity. My sexual identity comes first in mind, but the most important confusion that I faced was my cultural identity. As a child I lived all over the world: China, Hong Kong, Korea, and United States. I spoke Korean at home, Chinese with my friends, and English at school. When I was an adolescent I became very confused my cultural identity.…
Fishing has many fine arts and fancy parts that go along with it. There are common spinning reels and more complex bait casting reels. However whenever you fish at, there is always water. Sometimes it will be sunny too, but a little breeze usually help. You can fish from deep V boats to shallower bass boats, pontoons to yachts or if you wanted to from shore or a canoe.…
Saltwater Fishing Saltwater fishing has long been considered not only one of the most appreciated forms of fishing by fishermen, but one of the most appreciated sports by people who are not necessarily salt water fishing enthusiasts. Saltwater fishing, deep sea or deep blue fishing, as it is know colloquially, is considered by many as the most rewarding style of fishing with catches ranging from wayward salmon to sharks that can weigh upwards of a few tons. Saltwater fishing is a rather broad label for a category of angling that includes a variety of different styles of fishing, each worthy in its own right.…
My entire family are avid fishermen and women. My grandmother and her sister grew up on the inlet to Island Pond in Stoddard, fishing not only for pleasure but for food for the family. They passed the love of fishing on to my mother: my father was raised the same way. By age three my parents had me out on the water fishing. I fell in love with the activity and try to get out on the water as often as I can.…
Exploring Life After reading several poems, the poem that stood out to be the most was from The Dream Songs. I am one of 13 children, and I am one of the youngest of my siblings. My older brothers and sisters were adults and live in their own home with their family. As a child, I would stay home and tell my mother I was bored. She would say not to tell her I am bored and to find something constructive to do.…
When I had the opportunity for a vacation, I immediately arranged a fishing trip. I was so excited to visit Devils Lake to satisfy my search for some Panfish, smallmouth, trout, perch, Northern pike, walleye and many other large reef dwelling creatures, but I did not know that I am in for an unusual experience, that inside water like Devils Lake anything is possible. The fishing was excellent, I must say, in addition to good weather condition during my visit. I really enjoyed dropping jigs into Devils Lake water.…
When I was a kid, I went fishing with my grandfather, but definitely, fishing isn't a sport that raises much adrenaline.... unless you go fishing tuna or sharks... On the other hand, I've always wanted to try skydiving. Have the feeling of fall, and once the parachute opens, plan such as birds. Anyway, sorry, but skydiving doesn't provide the sensation of flying, simply you fall more or less speed... Years ago I practiced paragliding, and here you fly like the birds...…
