During track season, my seventh grade basketball coach thought that it would be a great idea if I joined the track team and competed in the 400 meter event. I attended every practice and I was motivated and convinced that I could win first place. However, on the first track meet that I attended, I was in last place. The summer going into my junior year, I tried out for the summer baseball team. However, although I had never anticipated there would be a problem with my talent levels, considering I had played freshman and sophomore year, I did not make the roster. I was devastated. When I arrived at my enormous new high school for cheerleading auditions, I got lost. It was June, and since classes had just ended, crowds of kids filled the hallways, and I got bumped around like I did not exist. Thankfully, a cheerleader saw me and figured that I had come there for tryouts since I wore shorts, cheer shoes and a big bow in my hair. She took me to the gym where at least sixty girls had shown up to compete. The first thing I saw was cheerleaders doing high level tumbling with no fear.…

The team consists of many different players but the to name a couple: undefeated in the league and only lost one game so far. Our next game is against our rivals, Port Alleghany. This is where the story begins.…

At some point in every person's life, they will have a special experience that will stick with them forever. One of my most memorable moments happened recently at a home volleyball game against Traverse City West. Approaching freshman volleyball season, the upperclassman spoke highly of the importance of overpowering TC West. As a ninth grader, I had the mindset that I would be playing for the freshmen team. I didn't think it really mattered what the outcome of the game would be, since we were only ninth graders.…
