I would both contribute to and benefit from the diversity at NC State. I am multicultural, as my father moved to America when he was fifteen from Iran. I have grown up around Persian culture, and I am currently learning Farsi. The history of Iran intrigues me, especially since I would not be here today if my dad had not left before the Iranian Revolution. I feel fortunate to have a father who was willing to sacrifice so much for his future. I have also learned a great deal about religion. My dad's side of the family practices Islam; while my grandfather on my my mom's side is a Baptist Priest.
