There have been times where I have thoroughly enjoyed working with others; however, there have been times where I’ve wished that I could have worked by myself. In my junior year of high school, I had signed up for a class called AP Capstone Seminar that called for the students to collaborate with other individuals in the class to create a argumentative essay and present a presentation. Each member of a group of four had to develop a part of the essay that was thorough, credible, and had no distinct bias. Once each member put together their individual part in the essay and revised the information, we had to create a presentation that gave an overview of the essay. Initially, I was very apprehensive about collaborating together with a group of people that I had no prior knowledge of and I was worried that the others in my group would not pull their weight which could possibly end with a disastrous paper and presentation. When I allowed myself to be open to my group member ideas, it allowed myself to think in different ways which pushed me to grow as student and as a person. Although there may a have been slight stumbles through the way, we always resolved the problem by talking it out and respecting each other's beliefs and experiences. The excessive worrying that I had initially seemed completely unnecessary and possibly overdramatic in a sense as the project ended in a

The main challenge of this group situation is that there was a sudden rise of conflict among members at the beginning to mid phase of the project. This resulted the possible development of groupthink (Janis, 2008). As a leader in this situation, I would firstly feel lousy and disappointed in myself that I didn’t take note of group’s division and how the meeting could be more inclusive of everyone’s opinion (Chadha, 2016). However, at that point, I would also probably feel confused but yet curious as to why it was suddenly voiced out, hence thought that I should facilitate to explicit the thoughts and feelings of each member to better understand as well.…

Co-Ed sports teams consist of athletes of both genders. These types of teams are typically only available for the younger kids, but what if it was an option for the older players too? Having the option to play co-Ed sports could be a massive push in the right direction for both the children involved, and the reputation of the school promoting it. The school would likely be the only one in town offering the student athletes a fun and healthy way to learn to work with others, relieve themselves from stress, and learn to have mutual respect for others no matter your differences. Co-Ed sports teams could be a great way to learn to work with others, help them make friends, and a healthy relief from school stress for everyone.…

Group projects at school are one of high schools most frustrating aspects for many students. Often, the teacher picks the groups and it never fails that you're stuck with someone very different from yourself. In my dual credit history class, the professor assigned us a very difficult project. We had to pretend that we were the United States government, and we had to come up with plans to solve the dust bowl, and the great depression and then present them to the class, who was in turn aloud to ask questions. I was a sore thumb in my group, big into the FFA and the agriculture world I had so many ideas to solve the dust bowl which in turn would help the great depression.…

I was able to change and submit my part of the essay on time, despite having to change the topic of our project. I felt like as group we didn’t have many weakness due to our division of labor…

Participating in the Problem Mapping Dialogue project gave me new insight into how groups function. I believe this experience will serve me well as I go through my college career and work on various group assignments. My group for this project excelled in some areas but faced some obstacles in other aspects of the assignment. This activity provided us with solid feedback about what parts of group work we do well and what we need to improve for the future. One strength that I observed among my group members was that we seemed to have the ability to piggyback off each other’s comments.…

Knowing my values help me to set limits on what kind of client I’ll be able to work with, and who I’ll have a problem communicating with. I believe in my life right now that I am in the stage of Personal Faith. The reason I believe I am in this stage is because I’ve had times where I doubt my faith and question certain beliefs. I believe I am in the Personal Stage of faith is because I no longer follow a crowd, I am comfortable in my own skin, my own beliefs, and actions. I have removed myself from the influence of others and groups. In my Personal Faith stage I also have become independent and take responsibility of my personal beliefs and actions.…

My personal worldview has shifted a multitude of times over the course of my life, but the largest, most drastic alterations have taken place over the past nine years, from the moment I started to believe in God. One could say that part of my worldview is a belief that a worldview continues to shift as we move through our lives, learning, growing, exploring and asking the deep questions of ourselves and of others. As I reach deeper levels of maturity, authority and capacity in my relationship with Christ, I will also reach deeper levels of understanding about the universe, the world, and its’ occupants. I believe there is one true God who is the creator of all things, including the universe. I am unable to comprehend beyond this, meaning,…
