The team consists of physicians, surgeons, social worker, ARNP, physical therapist, and occupational therapist. While observing the team, the best outcome for the patient's treatment and prognosis is focused on before being discharged. Leading such a clinic has shown me first-hand how patients are more than just number and statistics but rather individuals who are unique and require treatment in a unique manner rather than being processed. The clinic has taught me to adjust to the unique individuals and provide them the proper information and care that is as unique as the patient. The clinics environment also taught me to be a better listener. Through the immense number of dialogue that I have translated in a situation where many are conversing, I became a better listener. I also through helping such a vast number of individuals, I was also able to form an environment that promotes a sense of security and trust that allows the patient to open up so the caregivers can provide the proper care and information to promote their health.…

Transformational leadership requires close relationship between leaders and their team members, and the leaders should not show their power to colleagues to keep an appropriate distance. The leaders should consider the needs and capabilities of the members individually. Mutual trust and efficient communication is necessary for the leadership (Salanova et al. 2011, p. 2257). A change in a clinical setting should be managed by both leaders’ and member’s opinion. To achieve this, leaders are required four qualities which are “idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation and individualized consideration” (Lavoie et al. 2016, p. 583).…

My job as a Resident Advisor is to create an environment that is welcoming to all of my residents. This task is both exciting and daunting since one can have a floor made up of residents coming from all over the country, representing different backgrounds and socioeconomic upbringings. To build this environment you must get to know the residents and develop a true understanding of the background and diversity they bring to the floor. One of the moments that stuck out to me while trying to build this environment came from a conversation about Indian dance and the Punjabi culture. I was with a resident checking to see how she was adjusting to being away from home when she told how she found her fit on this team called Buckeye Bhangra.…

My first leadership experience came from being a voluntary work as a life- and management skills trainer, where I had to deal with different background, minds and studies trainees, to be the leader of my own session, the thing that let me build my communication, discussion and presentation skills. After that I started working as assistant supervisor in a psychological support centre for the international medical corps, where I had the chance to deal with very professional and creative people, the hardest thing was being accepted as the youngest member of the team and to be known as a leader , but being in this atmosphere…
