Personal Narrative: My Clinical Experience As A Nurse

Firstly, I would like to appreciate everyone that made it possible for me to attend and have this clinical experience. I would also like to acknowledge and thank my facilitator who has constantly given me constructive criticism and pushed me so hard to critically think through every situation and the importance of planning and prioritize care. It has been extremely challenging but a worthwhile experience. Now that I have had firsthand experience working with real patients; I have come to realize why it’s crucial to have a broad knowledge of patient’s diagnosis, and know the disease process, this enables you to successfully and fully provide care. I have learned to be selfless and to value all aspects of life, treat every patient equally, with dignity and respect regardless of age, gender, religion or ethnic background. I now know that it’s no longer about me; having a job but how best I can help improve my patient’s health and livelihood.
