Personal Narrative: My Book Of Bible Stories

Decent Essays
There are many stories told in my family. Anyone and everyone told them, some nights it would be my mom and other nights it would be my grandpa. There would always be two stories read; the first one would be from a book called “My Book of Bible Stories”. This book has so many pictures asks questions has descriptive words and is still one of my favorite books. After that story whoever was telling the story would make up a silly story usually about a blue or green man with a giraffe that went traveling and exploring (I have no clue why). The person telling the story would get me good and tired from laughing. As I got older they would tell me about funny childhood memories that they had and experienced. I always liked hearing about what my dad

It says in the book of acts that "and they said, believe on the lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, And thy house" (act 16:31, KJV). Looking back on my passed five years of knowing Jesus I would describe it as a rollercoaster ride. Back in sixith grade I was going through a transition from Crosswalk to Hang time, Elementary School to middle school, and ultimately finding who I was and knowing Jesus. It was my 2011 Hangtime Winter Whiteout when I accepted Jesus into my life. Every year we do this thing called " Cry Night " that Winter Whiteout in particular we watched clips from "The Passion of Christ " and it was to the song " How He Loves " by David Crowder.…

I find myself fascinated listening to this man. I sit here amongst a crowd of hundreds of men, women, and children. We are all amazed at the knowledge that he speaks. The man changes his tone and compares himself the bread that fell from heaven and the water that came from the rock. The rabbi next to me is angrily talking to me as if I did something wrong.…

Throughout my life, I lived in an Atheist household within a Hispanic and Asian community called Monterey Park. During high school, I swam diligently for four years and served as varsity captain for my last two years. Although swim-captains formed strong relationships with their coaches, I created an uneasy acquaintance with my coach. After each swim meet, my coach complimented my time improvement. I thanked him, but I continued to convince myself that I'd disappoint him when I couldn't improve anymore.…

Before deciding to attend CTS, my primary goal was to first learn the Bible, become a minister and teach the Bible to others. I marvel at clergy that quote scriptures from their mouths without looking first hand and anticipate the day when I can do the same. The Bible contains answers to everyday issues (the good, the bad and the ugly) and helps us to learn about theology and ourselves. For this reason, I stand more excited about taking this class as opposed to many of my other classes. By learning the Bible my life would be enhanced and guided in the direction initially intended by the Lord.…

"Tell me a story about your family. " It was my first day in Rome. I had finished traveling 16 hours to start an adventure in a brand new country, and my host mother was cooking the first of many incredible Italian dinners to come and trying to get to know me. "I don't really have any stories. " This was definitely not true, but I did not necessarily want to talk about my family in my native language of English, and certainly not in my then shaky Italian.…

I vividly remember the first time I got on my knees to pray. I was four-years-old, and I was with my mom. She taught me the Lord’s Prayer, and after that she told me to repeat these words: “Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep. And if I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take” (Johnstone). The last part of the prayer is what my family always said which was “bless mommy and daddy, and everyone in the whole wide world.…

On August 26, 2005, I gave my life to Christ, and it was the start of a whole new chapter of my journey. I still remember that night vividly in my head. The feelings of excitement, joy, and love were very tangible in my heart. My mom and dad were both sitting beside me on my bed while I was told the importance of this decision and how my life would never be the same. Even at 5 years old, I was aware of my decision to follow Jesus and accept him into my heart.…
