My first day of “big kid school” comes quickly and I am handed papers to take home to my parents. Within the medical forms and PTA registration, an outside of school activities paper lies. I joined concert choir second semester of my freshman year, and it only took that one semester and I was hooked. I auditioned for my school’s highest level choir my sophomore year, and was one of two sophomores to be admitted. Choir immediately took over my life, and I became a choir officer for the first time my sophomore year, and have been able to be involved in extra activities such as All-State Choir, Solo and Ensemble, and Honors Festivals.
Music has been such a powerful influence in my life, through both violin and singing. I am more confident in all that I do and all that I can do, and music has helped to show me my own potential. Music has helped to shape who I am and who I want to be, which is something that I am eternally grateful for.
