Personal Narrative: My Barton Malow

Decent Essays
My Barton Malow experience was exciting. My first day I got to meet Jessica and Dana, which were awesome people. We went to visit The Yard for an event, where the workers come together and figure out the solutions for the problems they have while working. At the event I learned so much in one day I got the chance to talk to the workers one on one. Once they found the solutions they went to try it out, which I got to see and record, which was interesting. After the visit I got so much incite on how the yard works and how people come together to get the job done. My favorite experience is the D.E.C Project it was very exciting because we seen how the arena is coming along. The workers were friendly and didn’t mind show you around. Recently,

As hard as my relationship was with Thomas, I am grateful for what I learned from being with him. I learned that I am a strong and an independent person. I didn’t need him to make me feel secure and happy. According to Mendenhall (2014), intimacy dances work best when they support both people (Mendenhall, 2014b). Service Learning Project For my Service Learning Project, I decided to interview a woman by the name of Mrs. Hawkes. Mrs. Hawkes is a lady that I have been working on and off with in the military for the past four and a half years. For this project, we sat down after work one day to discuss basically anything that came to mind such as where she is from, her religious views, family, etc. The main reasons I decided to interview Mrs. Hawkes is the high level of respect I have for her and she is probably the most religious person that I am around an a normal basis. Joseph Campbell, the creator of the hero’s journey, did a lot of research on ancient mythology. He discovered that many heroes travel the same paths to becoming a hero. Campbell decided that heroes come across many challenges that are put into stages and in those stages the hero grows closer to the reward at the end. I am definitely not a hero, but my journey of finding Christ and giving my life to him has absolutely made me into a better person overall. As I look at my journey of finding Christ, I see that it has many similarities to Campbell’s Hero’s Journey.…
