I was waiting for the match ahead of me to be over. I hear the loud whistle come from the match and I walk over to the head table to check in. Butterflies were flying around my stomach. The people at the table hand me my band and I jog over to my coach, and see my opponent, the state champ. I put my green band on as my coach says “All you have to do is win the match and we win the duel.” That made my nerves go from 100 to 1,000. I walk to the center of the matt, and the ref walks over to us and says, “Shake hands.” We shake hands, one second later the ref yells “Wrestle.” The state champ shoots right off the whistle and takes me down. 2-0. He is starting to break me down but i reverse him and score 2 points. 2-2. There is about 30 seconds left in the first period, so i stall him out and 30 seconds go bye. The ref blows his loud whistle and we both stand up.
The ref flips a coin that on one side is green and the other side is red. My band color is green and the state champs color is red, and of course the coin lands on red. So he gets to pick first.

I choose neutral. So we are both on our feet. We get back to the center of the mat, the ref blows the whistle. He doesn’t shoot right off the whistle like i thought he was. I grab his arm and lock his arm to his head with my hands, and then twist my hips and throw him over my back. His back slammed to the ground,As i am pinning him, he fights back alittle but not enough to get out. and the ref drops to the mat and starts to count. 1, 2, 3. His hand raises high then he smacks the mat. I stand to my feet, and shake the state champs hand. As that happens in my mind i am screaming, I

About 45 min to an hour later I wrestled my Semi-final match, I won by pin in 14 seconds. The next kid I was going to wrestle in the finals was not a bad wrestler but I should not have a problem with him. While warming up I saw my opponent, he was tall with brown hair and very skinny. After the match before mine ended I walked up to the table and told the worker who I was. “You’re red,” the lady said pointing to me “You’re green,” she said pointing to my opponent.…

A Red Devils player hinged his arm at his elbow and pulled his whole arm across his body hugging his chest with his arm, he hit the Cadets player with his shoulder, knocking him onto the ground and made him look like a pin struck by a bowling ball. The Cadets coach screamed at the referee for a card to be given to the instigator, but the referee shook his head at his neck and reached down with his right hand and grabbed his whistle and blew it once again to resume play. The stadium erupted into madness as the outburst of the blaring horns and shrill whistles pierced my ears. The endless barrage of competing noises left me pleasantly dumbfounded as to where my attention should lie.…

They tried to throw a full court throw to mid court, my teammate intercepted it and held it so we went in to OT. In OT I decided I was going to go off and win my team to a victory. Me and my team made the first 2 shots of the game coming up by 4 and it was a good game to be only in the 3rd grade. We called timeout and made a play for me to shoot it, we executed it right all the way until the dude hit me and fouled me all the way to the grown, they didn’t call foul.…

“Shooter, shooter, she’s a shooter! !” vigorously shouted the opposing coach who wore an orange hat that clashed with his increasingly reddening face. I grinned and caught the rotating, leathery ball my teammate passed to me. Once it reached my fingers, everything became automatic. Not a single thought crossed my mind after my eyes focused on the red hook at the back of the rim.…
