Am I going to be proficient in my major? What happens if I earn my degree, but there aren’t any jobs available? Will I have a backup plan? Thankfully, college will provide me with the time I need in order to organize my future at my own pace along with people who are there to assist me. Throughout this journey, I plan to focus, practice, and devote myself to this career choice.
My first experience with working in a classroom environment was during my Sophomore year of high school. I was able to complete my community service in a kindergarten class at Hilltop Elementary School during harvest break. During that time, I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect. Previously, I had babysat, but taking on an entire classroom full of children intimidated me. After coming to the realization that I adored working with children, I made the decision to pursue a major of Elementary Education.
Working with children has always been fascinating to me. Experiencing them processing and learning new information inspires me to open their minds to the world. Working at a daycare allows me to figure out new ways of communicating and interacting with children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. I am extremely fortunate to have this opportunity as additional field
