For the last two years, I have had the opportunity to call UIC home, during my first year in college I attended Indiana Institution of Technology at Fort Wayne. Transferring in was a huge adjustment, I had just come from a school where I was the only African-American female in the majority if not in all of my classes. I felt as if I was I was isolated in an environment I wanted to call home. Coming to UIC was the best decision I made throughout my collegiate career, UIC not only offered my major, allowed me to be in a diverse environment, is in an environment that I am familiar with, but it also pushed academic excellence and ensuring their students have jobs once they graduated.
