It is cliché to say that one of the reasons for a foreign person migrates from one country to another is to pursue the dream they can’t achieve back in their home country, but it is true for me. I called mine American dream, not the dream of being free as President Ronald Reagan explained, or the culturally blended as explained in many western songs. It is simply the ability to further myself by having a college education, where you Dr. Seuss motto apply: you can be whatever you want if you believe so. As a student born outside the United States, I understand that there are not many scholarships available for me. However, I would like to take this opportunity and try to apply for the scholarships that would be valuable toward achieving my American dream.

Helping in the science laboratories is really a good way for me to learn more about science. Grading students’ assignments and helping in office work are also help a lot to my language problem. In these two years, I found myself learn a lot to communicate more fluently in English through listen and tutor some fellow students. Involved in math and science events such as: Math Counts, Science Fair, and Scholastic Contest are really agood help for my social skill. Being part of leadership clubs teach me more about more interaction. While attending school, I am involved with the Math and Science club as a treasurer. As a member of Phi Theta Kappa honor society, I have also been privilege to help in toys for tots and pick a star event. And being part of EOSC “Blue” Honor program is really aid my critical thinking as well as good
