Personal Narrative: My American Culture

I remember on the 4th of July, my dad got a bit drunk and accidentally lit a firecracker in his face. I've never been there, but I’m almost positive that never happens in China. If someone told me about a month ago to define my culture in detail I wouldn't know what to tell them. Now that I know more on the subject I can answer, my culture is American culture but not completely the American culture. I have come to notice that the American culture is very diverse and different than some may think, for instance, if you live on the west coast of America your life and daily routine will be exponentially different than someone from the east coast. Though I do like fast food, superhero movies, and I am very patriotic. I'm not only American, I am also Catholic. I celebrate Christmas and Easter and go to church on Sundays. Also my family has its own little culture, or tradition, on Christmas eve we all open one gift just for fun. Also, my family has a Christmas celebration on my mom’s side, we eat food and participate in a white elephant gift exchange. Easter is always celebrated at church or my house since I have been a Catholic my whole life, we usually participate in the church picnic and go to reconciliation. Also on Easter each year when we get home from church and or the picnic my family will have an Easter egg hunt around the house for me and my step sister Katie to enjoy, they also hide easter baskets. We also make it a very big tradition to always go on one family trip in the summer, I hate flying in planes, but I always have fun on the trips plane or no plane. I guess you could say that culture is the way you live your life, it's your repetitive movement during the day or the way you celebrate special occasions. For example, I eat breakfast every morning, or I try to, but maybe there are a couple cultures that don’t allow breakfast in the morning. Also I am a Catholic so I celebrate Christmas, but if an American family is Jewish they don't celebrate Christmas they celebrate Hanukkah, they both get gifts, but it's for a different situation. Also, because I live in Seattle I will be wearing warmer, more comfortable clothes then someone who lives in Arizona due to temperature. The American culture is more complex than some may
