One of the things that has significantly influenced my development was my Advanced Placement English Language and Composition class my junior year in high school. The class was taught by a phenomenal teacher, Mrs. Shaw, who made it virtually impossible for a student to fail the class because of her extreme dedication and amazing teaching. The class made me realize my potential as a writer. At one moment, it was a chore, something that I dreaded doing more than I dreaded washing dishes after Thanksgiving dinner.
