Personal Narrative: My Academic Career At UW-Eau Claire

Decent Essays
At UW-Eau Claire, I am looking forward to being apart of a smaller student community and faculty. I feel that the smaller student community will assist me in pursuing my academic goals because I will be able to connect on a more personal level with many students which will lead to lifelong friendships. The smaller class sizes of an average of 27 students compared to the higher average class size of larger universities along with the one to twenty-one teacher-to-student ratio, will help me create a deeper connection and relationship with my professors which is important to me. I feel that the more personal relationships with my professors will help me exceed in my academic career at UW-Eau Claire and will also help me post-college in the workfield.

For all of my life, building close relationships has been the key to my success. I form relationships successfully in a small, comfortable setting. In school, classrooms are an accessible way for myself to accomplish this with my teacher. For every teacher I was close to, the class I had with them was my top class. One of the main reasons I chose Clarkson College was because I admired it was a private college with a limited student to teacher ratio.…

My graduate experience will be light years different then my undergraduate training. I chuckle just contemplating the technological difference alone. Back when I attended undergraduate school there wasn’t the internet, the LoudCloud, e-books, or personal laptop computers. We thought we were “hot stuff” because we progressed from the slide ruler to a state of the art Texas Interment graphing calculator. By the way google informed me that my particular calculator at that time was the first of its kind.…

It was a quiet summer night when I found myself walking through Marshall Park. The sun had just set and now the moon took its place as it hung lonely in the sky.
