I admired the nurse that took care of my aunt up to this day and hold them in high respect. I invested hours in their office whenever I visited my aunt in the moments of her surgery or to pick up her medicines. Few years later, I had been volunteering at a local hospital, this made me fully realize the hard work nurses put in their work line. My overall experience with the nurses that I encountered was positive. In my senior of high school, I took a course on health and human anatomy.…

According to Leming and Dickinson (2016) “The primary goals of hospice care are to promote patient–family autonomy, to assist patients in obtaining pain control and real quality of life before they die, and to enable families of patients to receive supportive help during the dying process and the bereavement period” (p. 216). These are all great ways to have a better, more dignified death. I have no children, and am not sure if it is a part of my plan to have any, so I do not expect my next of kin to care for me. Even if eventually I do decide to have children, it is not as common throughout American culture to care for a…

This entails sharing stories about him with my children. Also, participating in family gatherings where we talk about Pa.…

A death of someone is never easy to handle, especially when it’s someone you truly care about. Growing up, the subject of death was never really concealed from me. My parents were very upfront about it and taught me that it is part of life. I have experienced multiple deaths throughout my years, both of family and nonfamily members, but only 4 of them really impacted me and taught me lessons. I wouldn’t say that these experiences of death has made me numb to it, but has shaped the way that I handle and look at death.…

I struggled to keep it together, but when things got bad my parents did what they thought was right for me more medication, and more therapy. All this death made me really learn to open up to people. I used to never spoke to my therapist, or anyone for that matter and keep everything bottled up. My sadness helped me learn that I have people who will help me in my darkest…
