Personal Narrative: My 8th Grade

Decent Essays
My 8th grade has been a real blessing. All the highs, lows, memories and people have really made an impact on my life.

There has been many highs and lows with this school year. I am so glad that I can share my highs with you. The High School trips, Western Christian and Etiwanda, also talking with Mrs. Semanovich and the lessons she has taught me have been great things throughout this year. Throughout this year there have been some okay things that have happened. Like running the mile in P.E. and playing volleyball in the beginning of the year. Sadly there were some things that were not so great this year. At some points in time we had a lot of homework and it was kind of overwhelming, also reading this year was a little challenging for me because I don't like to read and I never really have. I believe that I have more highs than lows this year because this was a really good year.

I have many memories of Mrs. Semanovich and the lessons she taught, also Mr. Zekri and the lessons he taught and his jokes about certain things. The most memories I have are of my friends. Melissa, Justin, Kaelynn, Erika and Tiana they have made me feel really happy and they always make me laugh and feel important. Hume Lake was an amazing experience and I have memories of that. I liked going on the boat with Brooke, Christian, and Mrs. Semanovich, I also loved skating. This has been a year full of memories and I am really going to miss this

Over the years I became involved with extracurricular activities which led to my primary interest I had developed in technology and the sciences. As a freshman I joined the Students with Future Interests in Technology Club, Spanish Club, and Robotics Club. These clubs stayed with me till I graduated high school and I have loved them ever since I got involved in them.…

My most positive high school experience for me has to be when I was inducted into National Honor Society for my senior year. This was something that I has been striving to do since my freshman year after I received my first academic letter. But after our school decided to only allow seniors to be inducted, raised the GPA requirement, and reduced the amount of people that would be allowed to be inducted I wasn’t sure if my goal would still be attainable. But after three years of strenuous classes, constant volunteer service, and keeping my grades up I finally received an acceptance letter and was inducted into NHS where I am able to surround myself with others that have the same academic goals as…

I’ve been in school for about 11 years, every year is different, but yet the same. Because we are at the same school for years, it’s the same people, same school, and same everyday routine. Some years are better than others, but the overall best year that I’ve experienced is or was, 8th grade. The fun field trips to places, High School acceptance, and it’s the last year of middle school.…

Graduation speech Juan C “Nothing is over until the moment you stop trying.”- Bryan Dyson Being Comfortable has been a real struggle for me these past years i’ve been here in holmes.6th grade for a 5th grader is scary, not knowing what is coming for you. 7th grade becomes easier because you already have an idea of how junior high is. 8th is all about reflecting over 6th and 7th grade. In the seventh grade, I faced a large transition in life. The previous year I had experienced middle school for the first time, but I would make that entrance again. I moved from Texas to North Dakota, where seventh grade was the first year of middle school. I took on those same fears and hopes that I had faced before, but in an unfamiliar place where I had no one except for family to give me support. I tried a lot of new things that year, mainly wrestling.…

What do you remember from high school? Friends, sports, pep rallies, standardized tests. You wouldn 't normally think of standardized tests when thinking of things you remember from high school, but for many students that struggled with them in high school it is a large part of their high school experience. We should stop using Standardized tests in Texas schools because they have changed the way teachers teach in a detrimental way, have delayed students’ graduations, add unneeded stress to students’ and put a strain on already tight school budgets.…
