My 8th grade graduation party like most, was a blast. There were kids swimming, eating, playing wiffleball, and having conversations throughout the party. So many of my friends were there that I didn't know who to hangout with. As nightfall approach our idea was to play cops and robbers. All the kids at the party agreed to the idea to play. So, we split teams, made the boundaries of where we can go. Of coarse the good hiding spots were running through my head. Since it was my party, my team got to hide first. Off the get go I ran into the woods where I knew the giant dead oak that was leaning onto another tree was the spot to hide. Once the oak was in my site, being bare footed, I ran through the tall grass around and up the leaning tree I went. I decide I was going to hide by the part where the tree split into a y. With an abundance amount of branches around, the difficulty of the other team seeing me increased significantly. Time ticked away in the tree, by myself with the mosquitoes having a feast day. Suddenly as soon as I landed a sharp, bee sting like, shooting pain was in my right hand; I went down like a fly. My mind was going about 3,000 miles an hour, all I could think about was getting to the house to clean my foot up. By the time I came running out of the woods there was no pain, my adrenaline rush was going, and the other team was chasing me. With the jail being my back porch I could set free my team and run into the

The hardest thing I’ve ever went through? Let me take you back to almost three years ago to a very cold Thursday morning in January. I was sitting in history class when suddenly something very strange happened; the announcement speakers came on. To most people it would seem like it was a very typical day to day event to listen to announcements; but at my school announcements were rarely ever said. My classroom got completely silent; to the point where you could have heard a pin drop.…

"Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty and persistence" I have had many ups and downs over the course of my life thus far. One specific example of this took place during my freshman year of high school. When I started high school it was very challenging for me, partially due to the fact that; during this time, I was lazy, unmotivated and did not really take school seriously. This by far is one of my biggest regrets to this day. Who would ever think that not trying during my freshman year would continue to follow me throughout the course of my academic career.…

The next thing I know, Private Supple is screaming for me to watch out. There had been a German soldier roughly 30 yards behind us. My years in high school were quite thrilling and adventurous. Starting as a freshman, I had no idea where I was going and what was going to be expected of me. Over the years I became involved with extracurricular activities which led to my primary interest I had developed in technology and the sciences. As a freshman I joined the Students with Future Interests in Technology Club, Spanish Club, and Robotics Club. These clubs stayed with me till I graduated high school and I have loved them ever since I got involved in them.…

For the past year, I could only provide an indefinite answer to a frequently asked question, How was your freshman year? In fact, those of us who experienced our freshman year could be addressed as “college veterans” will never initiate a conversation with regard to the past year. Perhaps they consider that the freshman year was not as consummate as they initially planned. I cannot judge my first year in college was successful or frustrating, but I feel I benefited from the meritorious experiences and practical knowledge gained from my college life. In my opinion, no matter what goals one wishes to achieve in college, whether its grade, love, health, or sense of accomplishment, one has to be prepared for both failures and…

In the Spring of last year, it was my Junior year, one of the most critical years in high school. It’s the year that colleges look at the most, also it was the year that I was in some of the most challenging classes. Mostly honors, a lot of homework, and tests to go along with it. Studying would take me until late at night, and even on weekends, all day long. When it’s the end of the term everyone checks their grades for their report cards, and progress reports.…

I have found that the present slips away while you are worrying about the future. We are constantly telling ourselves that if we just get through this, then everything after will be better. We forget to appreciate the moment while constantly reaching for a hypothetically more fulfilling life. Once we graduate high school, or get through a challenging class, or finish a workout, everything after will get easier.…
