Personal Narrative: My 10th Class

Decent Essays
This 10th grade year, I know I have been struggling because it has been a little bit challenging for me. I put myself in a position that I would like to get myself out of. The classes I have now are not as challenging but it is just that I need to work harder in the classes and study more. The problem I need to solve, is my studying habits and the appropriate time to do my homework. Especially when there is a test coming up. For me I need to be able to try instead of giving up when I feel like it, and it does take time to be able to do something, not just for me but for everyone too.
Right not the most difficult class for me is Chemistry. I can’t seem to reach the goal I would like to make in that class. I would say maybe it’s my studying

All throughout my school career, starting all the way in elementary school, school came very easy for me. I found that I rarely had to try hard at anything because it seems like I just knew it. With very little studying I was able to maintain high grades. In middle school I was put in advance math classes and it still wasn't a challenge but then in my junior year of high school things started to get difficult.…

I was 10 years old. I looked from the edge of the mat, unaware about the endeavor I was about to take the moment my foot touched that mat. I finally decided to walk on, like they had taught me by bowing, it was the first of a near million times I was going to do this. I was a white belt, at the best taekwondo centers in the area. All the kids, stood to the side eerily silent, waiting for instructions.…

Last semester was definitely the hardest for me. I have two challenging research papers toward the end of the semester. I find it hard because I did not know what to write about and which assignments I should start on first. I manage to overcome this challenge by narrowing the topics and start on the paper that was closest to deadline. My stress level was at 10 because I skip meals and stayed up all night long to finish my papers.…

The day of August 27, 2012 I was officially titled a freshman. One look down those unknown red and blue walls, will forever change my perspective of high school. There was an instant moment of disbelief in my freshman, I was terrified, and no thought came to mind as to how I was going to survive high school for the next four years. Of course I knew it'll be different from my tiny middle school, but will it be like the cliché movies about the upcoming of age, or resemble the happiest times of life. From that first day, I knew I wasn’t like everyone else.…

This year I decided to challenge myself academically. I made the decision of taking four AP classes and math analysis so, to say the least it has been a difficult journey. In addition, out of all the classes I took I struggled the most with AP Chemistry. The material is pretty difficult to understand, even after spending a couple hours to review my notes some things would still be a little blurry. I was failing my test.…

My parents have said to work hard and do my best in school. I never understood why until I got older. The reason they told me to do my best in school was because they wanted me to think about school and my future. Both of my parents didn't get the chance to go to college. They both came to the United States looking for what most people come to the United States for ‘The American Dream’, they wanted a place where they could raise their children and find a stable job.…

High school changes people. They express themselves, become opinionated, and they start to look at the world differently as they experience things they have never encountered before. A wise Oliver Wendell Holmes said, “Man’s mind stretched to a new idea never goes back to its original dimensions.” This quote is an excellent way to describe my experience in high school.…

I remember when I was 5, the first time I went to a building daily for 8 hours. I sat down on the cold blue chair. In front of me was a bin of crayons, all the colors of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and purple. I remember sitting in the cold room and having the freedom to draw marks on my blank sheet of paper. The dye scratching against the table, colors spreading across the canvas like the sun, rising in the early morning.…

The first nine weeks of school I have been struggling because I have been slacking and not been focusing as much I should have been and some of my grades are reflecting it. High School have so many different distractions but you have to learn how to stay focused on your work no matter what because your work comes first. Classes this semester were challenging honestly because all of them are harder than all my previously years of school from Ms. Aurelian’s World History class to Math Two. In math two class it took me a while to get back into the understanding of it because I hadn’t did math in a good while so I had forgotten things but towards the middle and end of the first nine weeks I started to get my groove back and perform better in class. My World History class it is just a lot of note taking and comprehension and a lot of studying and test that by far is my hardest class because I do not like to study at all and in return of me…

The start of class, we got into a big circle and to make things challenging, Alicia tossed in a small ball around while we announced the person we were looking at, name. The point of this exercise is how we react when someone calls our name. It was also a good exercise to remind us how to breathe once the person calls out their name. How the lips and breath work together to preannounce the word. My experience with this exercise was feelings of nervousness.…
