The dancing of the snow, the running of the wind, the Earth was so quiet, so very, very quiet, ever since the outbreak. The outbreak caused the death of nearly every individual on the face of the world. I was the last living man who was living in the last place, anyone would want to be- Mt. Everest. A human tendency is to run away from problems, no matter how big or small; in my case, I ran away as soon as possible on a helicopter to a place where I know for a fact that I will be safe; this idea was the only reason why I survived the outbreak. I was isolated from the rest of the world, and it was just me, myself, and I. It did get really lonely, and all that there was to do, was to be in contemplation. To think about life before everything …show more content…
There was a nearby cave where I thought I would rest until the snow dissipated. For what seemed almost a century, the snow was still falling, and I was still waiting, but suddenly there was a type of figure that was approaching the cave. It had a shape of a woman... but I thought that I was the last man on earth. I thought about calling over the figure, but I always prioritized safety above all, but I wanted to talk to a human. I tied one of the dead animals that I caught earlier with some rope and threw the animal into the storm. A few seconds later there was tug, a jolt that came from the rope. I started pulling the rope back to me only to find that the animal was gone with the rope all tattered up from what looked like a beast attack. I was starting to become concerned for what was happening, so I decided I would make a run back to my cliff camp. When I exited the cave the figure that I saw wasn't alone, more and more began appearing before my eyes. I dropped the animals and started darting it back to my camp, propelling my legs through the snow as fast as I could. I never knew I could run so fast. But alas the creatures were still following

In the book Into Thin Air, by Jon Krakauer, the Mt. Everest disaster is told from the personal account of Jon Krakauer. There are many causes and effects that led to the Mt. Everest disaster. Many of the causes could have been prevented had they been more prepared for a disaster to happen. Commercialization of Mount Everest does not only show disrespect toward the goddess by victimizing her as a money maker machine, but also for turning her awe-inspiring nature into a garbage dump. As Krakauer reaches the Everest Base Camp in the novel, he states on the view of the mountain that, “Everest had been turned into a garbage dump by the ever-increasing hordes, and commercial expeditions”(77). He describes the scenery of how “huge stinking piles of human feces lay everywhere; [...] [turning] the purists sniffed Everest, [into] debased and profaned”(66). His statement toward the mountain proves that Mount Everest is not the clean and prestigious attractive rock that are shown in the advertisement and posters anymore. Using the word…

The funny thing is it didn’t seem to be coming from outside but from above me. I thought I must be insane until I feel a warm breath brushing against my chilly skin. I look up and see a figure hanging by their foot out of the air vent just a few inches above me. I’m about to scream when he covers my mouth with his hand just as he falls and lands on the ground. I don’t see much about the figure in front of me, for his pale skin is cascaded in darkness but I do make out I few features.…

A hush fall’s over the crowd. It’s as if we can feel their presence, even before they had arrived in the room. I’ve heard stories about them – glorious stories about their battles and triumphs. But I’ve never even come remotely close to meeting one of them or even being in the same room as them! I imagine that most people here are in the same boat, everyone’s heard the stories but no one has ever seen it for themselves.…

Bold actions can be described as an important part of our daily lives. Bold actions can lead us into a better life because you took the risk for your own gain. Boldness is worth the risk and people should pursue it because we have never accomplished anything without taking a bold action (think of something you accomplished without being bold). In the essay, “Finding your everest” by Robert Medina, Jordan Romero shows bold actions should be pursued because he showed that you should take bold actions so you will be brave for the future since you know that you can do it.…
