Shaking with nervousness and butterflies in my stomach, I sat on the bus quietly trying to get in the zone and ready to play volleyball. Although this wasn’t just any ordinary game, this was the championships. My team has gone undefeated the whole season and to lose this game would crush us. As we approach Geneva North Middle School, where our match was held, I started to get even more nervous than before. My heart starts racing with anxiety and I started to get really sweaty, I tried to calm myself down, but it didn’t work. We start stretching and warming up, and suddenly Thompson Middle School volleyball team walks through the old creaky gym doors. My heart dropped and I felt more nervous than before. “Captains!” the ref shouted. Jordan and I jog over to the ref as well as two of Thompson’s players. “Introduce yourselves please” the ref requested “Hi, I’m Sammie” I said as I shook both of their hands. The ref explained all of the rules to us and since we were the home team, we got to call heads or tails.

My team couldn’t get their act together and kept shanking the ball into the crowd.I was starting to get frustrated, but we finally got a point. We were still in the lead, thankfully. Abby was up to serve and her serves are like a bullet. She got our lead back and we were doing great. The score was 14-8 and we were winning. Soon after, we won the first set! We all cheered and went over to the other side of the

Hunter was a good friend of mine who showed me the curve ball at baseball practice the following season before.…

In sixth hour crew class, the class is playing tchoukball and it's the most intensified game of tchoukball I have ever seen. It was the red team versus the green team, and when the game started the red team won the tip off. Tyler yelled “Cole I’m open!” , then Cole passed it to Tyler and he flung it on the rebounder like Aaron Rodgers throwing a football to Jordy Nelson, and the ball launched off the rebounder. The green team couldn’t catch it so the red team scored a point.…

So we prayed and the game started and we played nervously. My captain, Melissa dribbled down the court, looked to pass, and took the shot but missed it. Michelle also missed her fast-break lay up, and I missed my free throw. At the end of Quarter 2, it was like playing football because the scoreboard only shows 2 for Ipeka Tomang (my school) and 3 for Yadika. That indicates how much we are struggling the whole quarter never really score but a constant battle between getting and loosing the ball.…
