Moving to Orlando from Miami was a huge culture shock to me. Being from the city where people rarely sleep and restaurants/convenience stores are open 24/7 I had a bit of difficulty understanding why the Walgreens around the corner was closing at 12:00 a.m. As I adjusted to what I thought was a drastic change Orlando decided that it wanted to teach me a bit about nature. My time here has pushed me out of my shell and made me a bit more outdoorsy. Now in my leisure time I find myself going out to the nearest lake to kayak and finding new parks or trails to go to just to get a breath of fresh air and to think to myself. This was a major factor that helped relieve some stress as I prepared to take my MCAT.
