Personal Narrative: Moving From High School To College

Moving from high school to college was a big transition. My hopes and goals was to do great in all my classes to achieve a wonderful semester. But things did not turn out that way as it was too easy to fall out of place in-between night life and just being on my own. I attended class everyday but my study skills were not up to par for the challenges ahead of me. Which caused me to do bad on test and lose interest fast in all my classes. After losing interest, I started to hang out more with friends and do other things besides work and study; which didn’t make things any better. Just because I lost interest in class didn’t mean I didn’t want to do my work; I just didn’t have the right planning technique or time management to get work done. Going into summer I rejuvenated my mind to get in gear for my sophomore year. And once again I failed at my time and planning skills which caused me to completely withdraw from school so that I wouldn’t mess up any financial aid or my GPA any further. Once I withdrew from school I began to reevaluate myself to really think what I was going to do with my life. School was all I had and messing that up was the biggest mistake of my life. I thought over and over again about what I could do to continue my passion for becoming a Veterinarian specializing with reptiles or just being an herpetologist. But I knew I was going to have to change my behavior about school all together if I wanted to get anything
