Personal Narrative: Moving Back To Lawrence Changed My Life

One of the biggest personal challenges I faced was before I moved back to Lawrence I lived in a rural small town on the frontier of Kansas and Oklahoma. I was in Junior high school at the time and the town was very traditional and old-fashioned and having a new student at the time was very seldom to occur. I soon found myself being verbally and even sometimes physically attacked for being the only Native American student in the school district and that was so troubling to me just because I was just trying to get my education to better myself and make friends.
