Moeller Class of 1995 graduate Greg McHugh, who was a starting receiver on the Moeller 1993 state finalist team exclaimed, “My dad went to Moeller, and I went to many of the games as a kid.” With his voice raising in excitement continued on,” I always knew I wanted to play Moeller football, and when I got to Moeller I was so fired up to play the game I loved in front of thousands of fans cheering me on. When we lost to St. Ignatius my junior year, I was heartbroken. All of our hard work was for second place. I still think about that loss today. There was nothing like going out there on Friday nights… I will cherish that forever, and wish I could relive those days.” McHugh went onto play football at West Virginia University, and the impact Moeller had on him has been a big influence on his life. He and his younger brother, Michael, Class of 1999, still can be seen in the stands of Moeller football and baseball games.
