Personal Narrative: Milwaukee Job Corp Center

Improved Essays
What lead me to Milwaukee Job Corp center was the opportunity that I see present here. I chose to come to the center because I could no longer deny my lack of direction and decided to go in the right direction. My goals are to earn all of my certificates in the MOS trade, get my Wisconsin State Driver’s license and gain more knowledge about life with structure. The career success standard I feel I excel at are Multicultural Awareness and Information Management. I think I excel at them because I’m aware of the culture differences in all of us here on center and try my best to understand them all. Information Management is another one that I feel I excel at. I have always been great at evaluating, organizing and interpreting information in any form throughout life. …show more content…
When it comes to working productively with peers I tend to hold my thoughts on projects. I’d like to be a help and I’d hate to give someone the wrong answer or advice and have them upset with me. I also need to learn how to handle difficult situations in a responsible way. I also withdraw from people when things go wrong and I’d like to be able to solve a problem with a future co-worker and have the ability to continue working with them and strengthen my interpersonal skills.
The six keys to success are: Always Stay Focused, Never Give Up, Commit to Yourself and Your Future, Ask For Help, Work Hard, and Make Good Choices. One of the keys I’m currently successful at is the Ask For Help Key. If I need help on a project or don’t fully understand something I’ll ask for help. Another key to success I feel I do well at is Work Hard and I believe that to be true because I try my best to work hard at whatever I’m doing. Weather it’s a dorm chore or doing class work, I attempt to do my best and work

I have always been interested in learning and using new ideas. Throughout my life, I have invariably drawn from my life experiences, newly learned ideas and my continuing education to help problem-solve sensibly and realistically allowing me to move forward or help others reach their goals. Although I have no formal teaching experience, in my past work and involvement in organized sports, I have repeatedly used the Progressive philosophy. When dealing with 13 & 14 year olds many situations arise such as bullying, personality clashes or simply not understanding a drill or play. I deal with these situations by asking questions to stimulate a discussion, allowing them to draw on past experiences; positive or negative, consequently allowing them to come up with a solution or grasp the knowledge they are seeking.…

In life, success is the pursuit of many individuals. Indeed, for many, success has become their major goals in their lives because success often brings rich rewards in the form of realization of dreams and desires. Unfortunately, not everybody achieves success; in fact, most of us don't. To avoid the frustration of failure, conventional wisdom has convinced us that we need a success formula--some kind of a blueprint for success in life. Is there really a success formula?…

All of my life I have been involved in a sport or physical activity. The similarity between the sports I have learned to play and the way I was taught to learn in school are very much the same. I grew up playing softball and volleyball, which are both very detailed sports to play. With all different positions, regulations, and rules it is very much important to pay close attention while being taught how to play. It would have never been easy to learn the techniques by only watching a volleyball match or a game of softball repeatedly.…
