We did a lot of activities and stayed there for three days.It was so cold when we went, we went in March I believe. But little did i know one out of those three days was the bestdays of my life.
As soon as I got off the bus,I knew this would be a special place to have fun. When we got off the bus we see a lot of conoes and cabins and houses along the side.As we are walking my shoes already got dirty. While we are exploring around for a little while i see a basketball court, low ropes, trails, zip line, etc. While we go farther and farther, I see things connecting to trees high off the ground. As I think to myself

The grass was brown and dead, heat from the sun hitting the earth at angles that start fires. Wind was blowing, but it felt hot and humid, with a thickness that sent claustrophobic feelings into the lungs of every individual. The Willits Charter School was doomed to have mile testing on the day when the effects of the fire reached the south side of town. Everyone who lived within 5 miles of town was inflamed from the inside with exhaustion and smoke sickness. Personally, my body was plagued with the effects of smoke, smaug and asthma.…

I was still going to school in Truckee when I went to the orientation my school was having their 6th grade orientation as the Incline Middle School was having theirs. A new journey in my life began on August 13th, 2014 as my school principal cut the red ribbon celebrating the opening of a brand new high school. Little did I know, it would become a journey of growth and unique experiences unlike any before it, further refining and adding to my inner sculpture of identity and talent. I was going to Liberty High School, therefore it was necessary that I adapt--quickly, yet strategically. Throughout my life, I had never imagined that my high school experience would reach and exceed my expectations in the way that it did. I had the unique opportunity most people don’t get in life: to be part of a grassroots movement in establishing a culture that would enrich future students with tradition and values for many years to come.…

Even today I still remember clearly what happened that fateful day. Why I did it, I’m not exactly sure but it wasn’t fun, at least for Patrick it wasn’t. It was Spring almost Summer and it had been a decent year, nothing special but little did I know today was going to be exciting.…

My longing to teach first stemmed from my experience at Charter Oak International Academy. At this school, I was not only taught educational lessons but life lessons. Classes filled with students who identified as African, Mexican, Brazilian, American, Chinese, or other combinations were eager to learn and share their knowledge. Not only where students they there to learn, they were there to educate. My peers at the time cultured and showed me acceptance, pride, and confidence all things that I desired at the time.…

Being kind to each and every person you talk to can be challenging, but the impact that you may have on them can be remarkable. School is one of the cruelest places for a pre-teen or teenager. Girls and boys can single you out and laugh at you because you do not look the same. Many children feel as if they are not as good as others. Three years ago I was in seventh grade at Greendale Middle School.…

It was about seven years ago; I was a sixth grader walking into the middle school cafeteria. I remember walking in for the first time and smelling that school food that nobody liked but still ate, and seeing those blue and yellow walls that represented our school spirit. However, when I was in eighth grade they built a new middle school; as a result, over the years the old one starting falling apart from abandonment. Eventually, after all those years passed a church rented out the building and started to renovate it. It was a Sunday morning I walked into the remodeled building and smelled the pleasant aroma of coffee brewing, and seeing the black walls with vibrant colored lights facing toward the crowd.…

The white sheets with black eyes peering through holes of the costumes gave no clue as to who the kid was. I’m pretty sure he goes to my school, because there is only one middle school in my whole city. The person is also the height of an average middle schooler. The juvenile is also really thin, like a paper. The costume that he is wearing is very loose, and just flows in the wind on him.…

Skin tingling, knots forming in my stomach as I walk through the doors of my new middle school. “Ugghh, I just want to be back in Brooklyn NY, going to school with my friends not here,' I think to myself brushing away at fast pace from an 8th grader class, full of giants who made me feel like a midget. “First day and you already missed the bus, and are 20 minutes late!!” I congratulate myself in my head, shaking it in disbelief. Realizing that I might be more late if I keep walking at my current pace, I start to speed walk.…
