Change happens in steps, and it steps don’t happen within a day either. These phase happen to everyone. Including me, so allow me to explain these awkward these phases, almost.
In 6th grade, I was a loud, annoying, and always had something to say. I was always adding my two sense, whether it was with a friends’ problem, politics, or some other random topic. With this in mind, I also did not like meeting new people. I did not fancy the idea of talking to people in which no I idea of what the like. Somehow, I managed to find friends. I was still going to school in Truckee when I went to the orientation my school was having their 6th grade orientation as the Incline Middle School was having theirs. This personal narrative is going to be about the first day of Middle School and my experiences as a 6th grader. It is going to go after my emotions and other descriptive details of the first day. I still remember how the seat belt felt tightening across my chest as the car got closer to the Middle School. During that time I knew nothing about being in a big school because the biggest school i've been in was yankee ridge. (Which is really small).…

For most students, the transition from middle school to high school is the evolution from childhood to adulthood. In my case, my middle school graduation was a quick transition for another reason. The first few months of my freshman year had my parents rushing my grandfather in and out of the hospital because of his failing heart. By this point my grandfather had battled off colon cancer, 3 heart attacks, and 2 open heart surgeries. At age 74 he was not a candidate for a heart transplant but he was able to get a defibrillator.…

The rest of the year was great to me, I finally saw the rainbow. I gained many new friends and I was/am doing fairly well in my classes. I overcame an obstacle of mine that was really large, and I am proud of myself for doing so. I finally got to see what it looks like when the clouds part. I went from being a stress mess to a straight success (maybe not success yet, but soon).…

Middle School Mid-Life Crisis Middle school, a time of cringe worthy moments and regret. I like to refer to this story as my “Middle School Mid-Life Crisis”, since I questioned the purpose of going to school almost every day, and never felt motivated to do anything. Dreading almost every day of school, not having stable mental, emotional, or physical health, and feeling dissatisfied with myself as a student. My mind set was always on countdown mode, “I just have to make it through this class period. I only have 20 more problems to do.”…

Prior to middle school, I thought I was satisfied with my position. I had friends, got along with my teachers, excelled in sports, and got decent grades in my classes. Back then, I thought this well-roundedness I sought between these necessities would offer me self-satisfaction. Little did I know, however, that I was going to confront this well-rounded nature of mine during my first awards ceremony in middle school. Among the most intelligent, artistic or athletic of the students present there, I was the one of the few who simply struggled to stand out.…

In the seventh grade, I faced a large transition in life. The previous year I had experienced middle school for the first time, but I would make that entrance again. I moved from Texas to North Dakota, where seventh grade was the first year of middle school. I took on those same fears and hopes that I had faced before, but in an unfamiliar place where I had no one except for family to give me support. I tried a lot of new things that year, mainly wrestling.…

“There are far better things ahead than any we leave behind.- C.S. Lewis” Fifth grade was a year of representing the lower school as the “seniors”. In lower school we had no freedom; we had to ask to go five feet away like Pre-K. Finally, in the small cafeteria which smelt like pasta all the time, we had to be quiet. Though in sixth grade we have more work, sixth grade is superior to fifth. In fifth grade, we were the top of the food chain of the lower school.…
