I was a scared, helpless, crazy, small, ten year old girl; now only four short years later, I’m a strong, independent, a slightly less crazy, but still small fourteen year old girl. Inside the walls of Yough Intermediate Middle School, I grew up and become this wonderful young woman. I lost some friends and gained some friends. I endured my first broken heart. This school has had a major impact on who I became. My friends, heartbreak, teachers, classes, and activities are the things that have had the most impact on my journey through middle school. Giana Contino, Gamal Marballie, Jeffery Schoaf, Sean Royer, Jaden Cox, Hannah Sigler, Nadia Lewis, Jasmine Swift, and Kein Norris were my friends no matter what all through the four years

It quickly went from a nice, fun, vacation to a painful, terrible, nightmare. Just about every year before school starts while my mom has meetings for teachers, my dad takes my sister and I on a small, five day trip to different places. This year, we decided to go to St Louis. Little did I know that this trip would soon turn south very, very, fast.…

This personal narrative is going to be about the first day of Middle School and my experiences as a 6th grader. It is going to go after my emotions and other descriptive details of the first day. I still remember how the seat belt felt tightening across my chest as the car got closer to the Middle School. During that time I knew nothing about being in a big school because the biggest school i've been in was yankee ridge. (Which is really small).…

For most students, the transition from middle school to high school is the evolution from childhood to adulthood. In my case, my middle school graduation was a quick transition for another reason. The first few months of my freshman year had my parents rushing my grandfather in and out of the hospital because of his failing heart. By this point my grandfather had battled off colon cancer, 3 heart attacks, and 2 open heart surgeries. At age 74 he was not a candidate for a heart transplant but he was able to get a defibrillator.…

BEEP BEEP BEEP! My alarm clock goes off on a Monday morning at 4 am. The excitement wakes me right up, and I sprung out of bed. I rushed into the shower because I had to be ready by 5:15. After getting dressed and packing my things for a 8 hour trip, there and back to Sandusky, Ohio.…

“Don’t forget, the paper is due next Wednesday!” My 8th period teacher, Mrs. Oakford told to my class and I as we streamed out of the cramped classroom on a Friday. We couldn’t wait to bust out of the schools doors and claim our prize of a short freedom for surviving another busy, exhausting, and slow week of middle school. I rushed to my locker, grabbed everything I would need for the homework due Monday, threw it in my bag and headed down the hall collecting my friends to walk to town to start what I would hope would be a slow but fun weekend off The weekend went quicker than I wished and before I knew it, it was late Sunday night and I still hadn’t done my homework, I realized this and got to work.…

In the seventh grade, I faced a large transition in life. The previous year I had experienced middle school for the first time, but I would make that entrance again. I moved from Texas to North Dakota, where seventh grade was the first year of middle school. I took on those same fears and hopes that I had faced before, but in an unfamiliar place where I had no one except for family to give me support. I tried a lot of new things that year, mainly wrestling.…

My first day of middle school was hell, I have always been good at school. My grades have never been bad and neither have my actions and or attendance. Probably from having a mom that is also a teacher. I look at that as a good thing though, watching kids just goof off and not come to school then high school rolled around and it was like I got to look down on them because they did not prepare for bigger and better things. School wasn't bad for me because it was hard, it was bad because i was always shy in school.…

Yes, math has always been hard. I even struggled in Elementary school because I was always behind on subtracting and dividing. Yes, I did struggle in Middle school because we start new topics and do examples, but I'd still be a bit confused and then I'd ask my friends, but it would only help a bit. When I would struggle with a problem , I'd feel like I was just plain stupid, because there were times when everybody in the classroom would know how to do the problems and I'd be the only one there staring at my paper.…

High school hasn’t been much better than middle school, though, but I’ve learned how to deal with things, and not subject myself to drama; for the most part. My youngest years were the best, because I can actually remember how close my family was, and how close my brothers and I were. We all lived in Commiskey, until I turned nine. Every other weekend, and Wednesday nights I stayed with my dad, and I was always such a daddy’s girl, but only because I couldn 't see the false promises he always made me, and how bad of a drunk he was.…
