Memoir It all happened so quickly. The boy lunged at the girl with a crazed look in his eyes. People were screaming from every direction. Thousands of scenarios raced through my mind. Time seemed to slow right before by eyes. Yet, I could not move. I was struck by an invisible bolt of lightning and was paralyzed. The only thing I could do was watch in horror.
* * * The red autumn leaves crunched under my feet as I walked through the brisk air. The sky was a gloomy shade of gray and not a single cloud dotted the sky. I was headed toward the big, yellow, mechanical beast known as the school bus. If you combine pandemonium and a very small box with a lot of teenagers shoved inside you get a school bus. Just let it be over already!
I was torn from my day dream as I noticed the girl sitting in the row next me arguing with a boy two seats back. I shrugged it off; things like that always happened.
Why can’t people just be more civilized? I would bet that three fourths of these kids are going to end up in jail.
For the second time I was viciously ripped from my day dream. The girl and the boy continued to argue and I could tell things were getting tense. It was like a rubber band being stretched to its limits. At some point the tension just becomes too much.
“Your just a no good sixth grader you bi---! Fu-- off!” the boy screamed.
“You have no friends you as-----!“ the girl retaliated. And that’s when the rubber band snapped.

Dark and silent, I crouched in the closet. With my hands clamped over my sister’s eyes, I blocked the horrific sight that lay in front of us. A man stood, holding an object, black as night, over the unconscious body of my father. Masked, he wiped the fingerprints from his weapon only to slip it into my father’s hands, raise it, and pull the trigger. My sister let out a whimper, audible, but muffled by the a loud bang.…

The material of the dream, or the manifest content, is understood and explained through various symbols, or the latent content. Freud 's perspective states that the latent content of dreams express the unfiltered and true unconscious ideas, which could be considered as too explicit for the regular mind. William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream is filled with details up to reader interpretation from hypothetical curtain open, to curtain close. If the title of the play did not give it away, dreams are obviously at the forefront of these interpretations. Shakespeare’s play is a story of dreams and magic versus the harsh reality of love and real life. It follows, primarily, a few different groups of characters: there are four young lovers (Helena, Hermia, Demetrius, and Lysander) who form a convoluted sort of love-quadrilateral, if you will (initially, Hermia and Lysander are in love while Helena loves Demetrius but Demetrius loves Hermia); there is a company of amateur and unprofessional actors, most importantly a weaver named Nick Bottom,…
