Personal Narrative: Me As A Writer

Me as a Writer
Writing. My friend. My enemy. Writing is a way to get out my feelings. Writing is brain racking and troublesome. I believe that writing is something that is meaningful only if it comes in the right package. I like writing when I can just write, but I need a topic. I know it seems crazy, but I like it when teachers give a topic although I need to like the topic that the teacher assigned. It is very hard for me think of ideas sometimes, so when teachers say, “free write,” it take me about a whole class period to think of an idea. Then once I think of a topic, I take a while to figure out how to start the paper. I really like to write about things that have happened to me personally, or like writing about how I feel, like in a diary or a journal. I don’t like to write about aliens, space, and fictional stuff like that. My favorite part about writing is when I am in the middle of a story or essay and all of a sudden like five ideas come into my head at once, and I’m just writing and typing so fast. The ideas just keep coming and coming, and then you can’t remember all of them. It makes me feel so good when that happens and it’s like I go into my happy dance. I also like it at that moment when

I chose to write about the Little House Books. While I was writing that piece, my feelings just poured out. I felt so good after I wrote it, and I just had so much fun writing that letter. My least favorite writing experience was also in seventh grade, when we had to write our science fair research paper. We had to take like 250 notes. We had to sort all of the notes, and them put them into paragraphs. Then we had to write a long essay on everything about our experiments and conclusion. It just dragged on and on, and it got so boring, I just wanted it to be over

When I write I feel liberated, expressive, creative, and most of all I feel like myself when I write. I love being assigned an essay, or written response because it gives me the opportunity to portray my personality and ora through my words. In my 3 years at high school so far my easiest assignments have always been written; it just comes natural to me. Words can be as sharp as a knife, or as dull as a feather and I live for them.…

Out of all of the subjects I take in school, my favorite would have to be writing. I enjoy this form expression through words, and also enjoy reading expression through words. Writing allows me to express my feelings, thoughts, or emotions; I can put my mind and all of its thoughts up on display for all to be able to read and see. Through writing (and reading) I can read other’s ideas and works, and I can benefit from those. I can compare my thoughts with others, and teach and learn through writing and reading, creating a sort of symbiotic relationship between me and others.…

My experiences with writing is a challenging subject. I always had a passion for writing, it was an easy way to express myself, to speak the truth, to let everything out, but writing has always been a weak spot for me too. Mostly because I open up and I tend to be more vulnerable I never been a good writer. I am a terrible speller and writer I am horrible with grammar.…

This week beginning March 12, 2018, we were given an assignment in the class instructing us to write a five-paragraph essay on our relationship with writing. Conveniently, my love for writing stems from the various types of exposure I have had with it. At this time, I am excited to share a short personal history including external and internal influences that has assisted in cultivating the relationship I have with writing today. As a child, I was fortunate to have a few different external entities that encouraged me to read and write. Respectively, my mother taught me the alphabet and encouraged me to become proficient in phonetics by the age of three and my father introduced me to a location that provided me with unlimited access to stories.…

It’s very difficult for me to write at school, because I can’t write my best with people around me, but whenever I’m alone the more I can write about and think harder. I love writing about memories I have made throughout the years with my friends/best friends. It makes me remember them even if they were 5 years ago, I still laugh to this day! Writing helps me show everyone how my life has been and make him or her put their shoes in my footsteps and see all the crazy things that have happened to me the last 13-14 years. The reason I like writing is because if you keep the stories you wrote when you were in like kindergarten, you can still read them when you're a senior.…

This intellect of creative freedom is where I found my passion, where I felt as if I was being useful. From the bright colors of a sunset, to the way someone’s eyes light up when they speak of something they love, I slowly began to really notice and find a new appreciation for these day to day occurrences. Writing gives me a sense of creativity. It is a more lyrical way to see my seemingly ordinary life and has changed my perspective on everything from going through the motions to seeing the beauty…

Writing, is that word that in my experiences as a current student is just not the word you’d like to hear throughout your school day, because it is the thought of having to write for an assignment or project that you would not like to do. But, for some, writing is a big joy to them and expressing their emotional thoughts no matter the task of which they are writing for. I feel that to be a good writer you must be able to put you in the writing and be able to express everything you’d like to express with whatever the amount of words you have at your disposal. Just like most people, I didn’t get into the notion of writing until around second or third grade when you had to write a page or a couple of paragraphs as bellwork. The thing about this bellwork is that it wasn’t say an assignment, but more so a way to express our current thoughts on just about whatever we wanted to write.…

Really, the only kind of writing I do outside of school is text my friends. It’s been a pretty long time since i’ve written a story or something outside of school. The reason for that is because I don’t like to write without a specific subject. To be honest, I’m ok with writing, as long as it has some sort of a subject. I absolutely despise having to write some random story that doesn’t have any control, it’s just not fun.…
