Personal Narrative: Mary Joy Development Association

Life is full of experiences, some that fade away and some that stick with us forever. Mary Joy was one of those experiences that stayed with me. My interest in volunteering was triggered one day when I was on my way to school with my father. During that specific car ride, I noticed young kids on the streets of Addis Ababa who had no families and were left to fend for themselves. It was this horrific scene that led me to join a non-profitable organization called Mary Joy.

Mary Joy Development Association is a nongovernmental, nonreligious, nonpolitical and nonprofit making organization. The organization mainly focuses on helping orphans, vulnerable children, destitute elderly people and people living with HIV/AIDS. This was the perfect platform
