Pacing back and forth, I pondered how our volleyball fundraiser was going to stay afloat. The council was distraught, unable to acquire more teams, with the tournament in two days. With our advisors and the vice principal leaning towards canceling the event, my council had two choices: get eight more teams to sign up or call off the event. I didn’t want to cancel because I knew that as Junior and Senior year approached, we needed more money to fund our proms and class trips.…

Square one can be bliss for many of us. We recall all the memories that come out of it, the smiles, the laughter, and everything in between. I imagine square one to be our own little bubble, where we sit and twiddle our fingers, frightened to step out-- because if you do, you get sucked into the next world, a world where we think we do not belong. Yet, many of us do not even care about going back.…

The day began as Maya, Tasmeem, Hannah, Mary, Sadie, and I got into my car and jammed out to music all the way to St. Louis. As we approached the Loop, I could definitely tell we were in a very wealthy neighborhood which was indicated by the humongous mansions we saw. After parking at Starbucks Sarah and I went to the farmer's market in search of food. Since neither of us had been to the Loop and were in the spirit of trying new things, we purchased Chili Pumpkin Seed Chocolate to eat, and the chocolate ended up being quite nice. Later on we ventured to my favorite store of the day- the vintage candy store.…
