Anna Maria Island is a special place to visit in Florida. This beautiful barrier island is located in Manatee County on Florida's west coast in the Gulf of Mexico. I've been there three times to stay at my Papa and Grandma's condo on family vacations, and I am fond of it there! When we visit, we see beautiful palm trees and nature, and we go to many wonderful places on the island. One place I really love is Fire and Stone Pizza!…

At the age of 21, having her first daughter, my mother did not have an education beyond the sixth grade. Three years later we were abandoned by my fleeing father to fend for ourselves in a small and rural community. JC Denton stood on the south dock of Liberty Island. Beneath his stoic, lifeless facade he was worried - deathly worried that there were no GEP guns to be found on this lifeless rock. Liberty Island had previously been ravaged by international terrorists several years prior, who exploded most of the Statue of Liberty in the process. He had been told that it was the work of the French group Silhouette, who claimed that France “was wrong to give America the Statue,” though he had his doubts. JC had been searching for a GEP gun - or guided explosive projectile gun, a rocket launcher said to be the last word in stealth takedowns - throughout the seemingly endless night.…

Boating into in the Wellfleet Cove in Cape Cod, the first thing I noticed was how the towering sand dunes on the peninsula protected the still, glassy waters within it from wind. The cove was a sanctuary from my anxious life I led at home. My anxiety causes me to have to look at the future as an overwhelming heap of events with a variety of possible outcomes. I remind myself everyday to take things one step at a time so as not to get ahead of myself in a moment. But in the cove, I need not worry about the future because time ceases to exist there.…
