Personal Narrative: Main Street Electrical Parade In Walt Disney World

I’ll admit, I miss having a good night’s sleep, but what we’re doing is worth it. I couldn’t find a gray cloud in the sky about our adventures if I tried-at least, not until last night. Last night was a tough go for us backups. It should have been a magical night, a sad night, anything but a dangerous night. This is how it went. October 9, 2016, a night to remember. This was the final run of Disney’s Main Street Electrical Parade in Walt Disney World. My family was making a big thing of this event. We got a discounted room at the Contemporary way in advance, simply because of the school break. Now that this was happening, my mom, dad, little sisters, and I were uber pumped. My nighttime adventures, however, had created some suspicion that our wicked friends were plotting something. In other words, we’d had nothing to do in …show more content…
While my mom handled the checking in, I admired the massive wall mural and the express monorail soaring overhead. As I gazed on in wonder, I noticed a boy from school, Sid, on a couch sipping from a souvenir mug. We locked eyes, and he gave me a wink and a friendly wave. I turned back to the counter. I’ve never attracted the attention of the opposite gender! I whispered excitedly to Drina, and we spent the entire rest of our time in the lobby giggling and dealing with weird looks from the boys. The rooms would be split up something like this-Drina, Wil, and I would be in the first room, Millo and his family would sleep in the second, and my parents and little sisters would be in the third of our collective rooms. Why I got kicked out of my family’s room, I will never know, but I wasn’t that annoyed. You do not want to be in the same room as Penny when she has bad dreams about crocodiles. Crocodiles! And when Ellie wakes up at two in the morning and just has to play...er, I digress. Let’s jump to our first night in the hotel, when we got the scare of our

Last night I slept soundly and deeply. I was a bit upset that I couldn’t learn more about Ava and Becca, but today I will be able to. After a breakfast of some meat, some warmed-up vegetables, and a drink of water, we began to discuss how we would go further with our plan. Professor West pointed out that since we found Ava in the rubble, there could be more survivors. Given the very low chance of finding more people, I'm guessing we won't look for long.…

11:00 am I wake up to a perfectly clean room with a perfect breakfast: sausage, pancakes, bacon, and cinnamon rolls all sitting right next to my bed. I eat my breakfast and get ready for the day. I go downstairs to see my friends Austen, Zach, and Elias down there holding four tickets to the Super Bowl game tonight and a jet sitting outside in the field. I had slept in a little past what we had planned on leaving by but it didn’t matter too much we still had plenty of time to do what we wanted to.…

I wish I could tell you that the Baudelaires’ first impressions of Count Olaf and his house were incorrect, as first impressions so often are. But these impressions-that Count Olaf was a horrible person, and his house a depressing pigsty-were absolutely correct. During the first few days after the orphans arrival at Count Olaf’s, Violet, Klaus, and Sunny attempted to make themselves feel at home, but it was really no use. Even though Count Olaf’s house was quite large, the three children were placed together in one filthy bedroom that had only one small bed in it. Violet and Klaus took turns sleeping in it, so that every other night one of them was in the bed and the other was sleeping on the hard wooden floor, and the bed’s mattress was so…

Walt Disney had a vision. He imagined an amusement park where children and their parents could enjoy rides and have fun together. But, when he was in an amusement park in the early twentieth century, he noticed that there were only random assortments of roller coasters, and how sanitation wasn't the greatest importance. Walt wanted a place where children and families could have fun together in a clean, orderly and fun way, and at an affordable price. He knew exactly what he wanted, and it would be called Disneyland.…

Many of the tractors had hay wagons on the back that could fit up to thirty people. Usually, people would gather in the market square and watch each tractor go by. I knew from the moment I walked in to Sleepy Hollow park in Des Moines that I was going to have a good time. I was there for the Renaissance Faire during the Pirates and Wenches week. The smell of food and the sound of chatter was heavy in the air as a man dressed as a knight gave us a wristband, confirming that we had paid to get into the fair. I grinned at Sydney, and she smiled back, our excitement showing. My parents talked about the events as they looked over the schedule, but I wasn’t listening.…
