As I was entering elementary school my mom was positive she was gonna send me to Magen David, just like the rest of my siblings. Unfortunately I wasn't smart enough for Magen David and I they did not accept me as a student into their school. I remember during the time I was being tested in Magen David I did not know the answer to more then 75% of the questions. My mom saw that I was desperate, she started whispering answers in my ear, which the teacher had noticed. My mom was not sure what school to send me to until she heard about Barkai Yeshivah.

My mother heard that Barkai was a school with a caring and loving environment, and she knew it was the right school for me. I remember being tested in Barkai as well. I did just as bad as I did in the Magen David but for some reason they still accepted me. I passed 1st and 2nd grade. In 3rd grade I had a really strict teacher name Morah Sharon. She would take me out of class, during school which got me very excited up until I realized that I wasn't going out to have fun with her, I went out to go do work with her. She helped me out with mostly English topics such as Reading, Writing, and Social Studies. Her name was Morah Brendy. At the time I was able to understand that I was taken out of class to be with her, to help me and it wasn't discipline. If I was doing well meanwhile working with her, she treated me with a fun game. I slowly started doing better in school, but I always struggled in Social Studies up until 7th grade. Since I was doing better she slowly started taking me out less and less. My grades started becoming higher and so did my self esteem. This made me believe no matter how hard it is, it is always possible. I was struggling and I wasn't able to succeed, but the harder I worked the better I did. I am currently in Yeshivah of Flatbush honors

After that story whoever was telling the story would make up a silly story usually about a blue or green man with a giraffe that went traveling and exploring (I have no clue why).…
