Amazed, they couldn’t get over how green everything was! I couldn’t help but laugh. Aside from the green summers, Madison exhibits all four seasons to its fullest potential. Beautiful autumn days and devastatingly cold winters are a part of my life that I can’t imagine living without. Living in the Midwest, agriculture is a way of life for many people and Madison is no exception. Noticing that I have a Midwestern accent, people outside of Wisconsin will often ask whether I live on a farm or near cows. Growing up, there was a lamb and a goat farm beyond my back yard fence. Remembering the soft sounds of the animals as they grazed in the field is a fond childhood memory. Yes, farms with cows are plentiful and surround the Madison area. In the summer, hundreds of vendors gather at farmer’s markets offering the best fresh produce which restaurants take advantage of. Expressing a diverse ethnic community in Madison, you’ll easily find a wide range of different types of cuisine found in small quiet neighborhood cafes to large elaborate restaurants.
