Lupe's father has eyes like a bullfighter, real shiny and hard so you know he could just stand there until the very last second and stick a knife in your neck right when you thought you were winning. He was as hard as a rock. To make things worse I took Pappy's truck and lied about what I was going to use it for. I see Pappy riding that stupid bike he got me for Christmas that I never use. I knew he was going to be furious about his truck that I lied about using and crashing. He just rode up to the scene and threw the bike down to the ground. He gave me a look meaner than T.J. during one of the class debates. He talked to the cop. After what seemed like forever he said he's going to ride with the officer and said I can use the bike from now …show more content…

I wait for the last bell and then leave. Today I had something to do, and that was to go to soccer tryouts. As I walked over to the field I could see a bunch of people they all looked weird but than again so am I. They had gelled hair in different patterns and all had silver uniforms on. He looked at me with a welcoming look and said, ''Soccer is a hard sport, are you up for the challenge that awaits? There is no quitting. If you quit you fail the semester.'' "I know" I said trying to act like I was knowledgeable. I than exclaimed that I had played before and I was ready to play again and lead the team to victory. He chuckled, ''we are all family here, welcome to the team.'' I was so excited. He chuckled again and gave me a pat on the back.

After practice even though things were going good I still had to walk home to and from soccer practice. It wasn't that bad after all I had ok grades. I had B's and we were in our fourth week of school so I considered it an accomplishment. I was doing very well in practice and coach said I had a special talent. It made me feel warm inside when he said it. I think the

If you decide to give up there is no chance of being successful. I believe if you develop good habits now by working hard even when the odds are not in your favor then it will stick with you and become natural in the future. Although I follow this I still have times where it is hard for me not to give in especially when I’m going through a tough time with school or sports. I have had a lot of coaches in my life remind me to never stop trying. I will remember this game for my lifetime and one of the major lessons I took out of it was to not give up even when things are going completely wrong and against…

I had known a lot of these seniors all summer long and it would be weird playing without them. They all had made me feel welcome since the first day I stepped on the pitch and I made many great memories with them during the season. The bus ride home was very quiet with still random sniffeles and crying sound in the back of the bus.…

It was springtime during the year of 2012, I was just about to start my summer. I was looking on the internet for sports to do in Kaneland, because I wanted to compete at a higher level. But I was not always comfortable with playing on a travel baseball team, but I knew this could be a great opportunity for me, so I took a risk and after all it, payed off. I asked “Dad would you think I would be able to compete and play on the travel baseball team” He smiled “Yes, but one thing I learned when I was young and playing baseball is; it is a game of mistakes, and the only way you can succeed is if you practice over and over to improve.”…

The screeching of my violin echoed off the wall as I struggled to play Mendelssohn's concerto in E minor. The double stops that were meant to flow in harmony came out in a jumbled mass of notes indistinguishable from the shriek of a dying cow. I whimpered as these terrible sounds emitted out of my violin, and threw my violin down in defeat. I slowly tilted my head towards the clock, a terrifying reminder that my addition was only 10 min away. I gathered up my music, and ambled away from the empty practice room to where my judge would listen to my audition.…
