Personal Narrative: Lulu Ruffled Dress

Decent Essays
I have ordered the Lulu Ruffled dress in rose tulle about a month ago and I still have not received it, I have tracked down my order multiple times and it’s like my order does not exist. I am very unhappy and highly disappointed! I payed so much money for this dress and really don’t understand what is happening. I have tried to call UPS and other local Saint Laurent stores and I have not gotten an answer from either and I don’t know who else to contact. My patience had ran out and I hope that by contacting you personally I could find out what is happening, I have my recipe so I know for a fact that I bought and everything. I just need to know what is going on so please contact me back. Thank

The recipe said that I could improvise on some parts if it might taste better. I wasn't sure if it would taste better, but I knew that I needed some sort of sugar for the sauce. It is like an angel whispered into my ear and said, "Use the white sugar. Use the white sugar". I measured it like it was brown sugar and followed the instructions like I had every ingredient I was supposed to have.…

At my sister's basketball game, at Spring-Ford, at the ninth grade center, I was in second grade, not even knowing the girl sitting a few rows above me would become my best friend. Fast enough, I had figured out that she was on all of my competitive sports teams and I began to recognize her around progressively often. Her name was Lainey Owens. Not only did Lainey become my best friend, but was benign, sociable, loyal, and never failed to brighten my day. Throughout our friendship, I had been pleased and there was never a dull time.…

During the eighteen years I have lived my experiences have been fairly sheltered. I have never traveled out of the country, eaten exotic foods, or gone skydiving; consequently, I haven’t met many people of special interest. Not to say the people I have met are not interesting, on the contrary, most of the people I have come to know all have their own unique stories and experiences; however, I never did meet anyone quite like Miss May. To this day I can’t pinpoint what exactly it was about her that intrigued me so much, maybe it was her rich brown hair and almond-shaped eyes, or how she pronounced candy more like “kehn-dee”, or it definitely could have been the way her eyes lit up when she smiled—still she will always remain a mystery to me.…

Who am I? Well of course I am Lauren Elizabeth Goll, but you can just call me Lauren. I am 14 years old and I was born on November 25 of the year 2002. My mom told her family that she was pregnant with me on April fools day so her family thought she was joking which now that I look back on it, it may seem pretty depressing but I swear once I first heard about this I was laughing so much.…

Service Learning Project For my Service Learning Project, I decided to interview a woman by the name of Mrs. Hawkes. Mrs. Hawkes is a lady that I have been working on and off with in the military for the past four and a half years. For this project, we sat down after work one day to discuss basically anything that came to mind such as where she is from, her religious views, family, etc. The main reasons I decided to interview Mrs. Hawkes is the high level of respect I have for her and she is probably the most religious person that I am around an a normal basis. I thought interviewing her was a great opportunity to personally get to k now someone that has different beliefs and opinions than myself.…

For most people asking for a Capri-Sonne is not a defining moment in their existence, for me that sliver colored squishy pouch of fruit juice with grapes that looked like purple miniature beach balls etched in the middle was the object that lured me into the world of speaking German. I was 2 years old when my mother received a phone call from my father exclaiming that the Army had assigned him to William O. Darby Kaserne and later that month our family, would be uprooted from suburban Seattle and replanted in a rural yet medieval Nuremberg, Germany. Thus far, my world as I knew it had been a two-story cream-colored house with white trimming occupied by nuclear family, my two elder brothers, Hiram, 6 and Theodore, 4, my mother and father. In this world there existed only one language, English and only one me.. After a grueling 20-hour flight, stopping in Detroit, New York, London, Frankfurt and finally Nuremberg.…

It was always that section of a survey, job application, or even school assessment that would challenge my sense of identity: “are you black, white, or latino?” I never understood why that mattered, but that little box always taunted me. Growing up with an Argentinian mother and African American father, it bothered me that I could never select more than one box of that section, thus, forcing me to choose. It was when I was a senior in high school when I was told that my skin is black, so I am considered African American in this society. Since then, I pushed myself to only publicize my Latina culture and even to major in Hispanic Studies.…

Have you ever had someone who influenced you in the best way possible and helped you get as far as you are now? Well I had one and her name was Mrs. Martin. She taught at the school Watterson-Lake Elementary School and I, Alicia Fletcher, was the student whose life she changed. I was a tall, chubby girl who wore glasses and was so loud to everyone, but quiet when it was time to do work. I was taller than all the students in my grade which made me feel out of place, like I did not belong.…
