Personal Narrative: Loop Holes

Decent Essays
So I found a loop hole in the agreement that I made with my daughter . I said "I would go the entire week without drinking any Coke cola"This is day #3 I'm here thinking about a coke when I get off work and the thought occurs to me that I did not say that I would go with out soda at all. I guess I'll be having a Dr. Pepper or a orange soda today. Lol ! My daughter has learned a valuable lesson: people will find loop holes to do what they want to do! When making deals, signing contracts etc. you have to be very specific in your dealing and what my be obvious to you is not always obvious to others, always think outside of the box and address the possible escapes first.

To begin the reduction phase I have decided on the following 12 day schedule. Beginning tomorrow I will deduct one soda a day for two days and repeat this process by deducting an additional soda every other day until I meet my goal of just 2 sodas a day. Although my husband thinks I am crazy, I know I can do this. In theory the plan I have set sounds fairly simple.…

I used to love writing when I was young; however, I fell out of love very quickly. In middle school, I was an avid reader and enjoyed writing but my eighth grade teacher changed this habit completely. The teacher assigned so many essays that at some point I started to see writing as a chore. This outlook on writing continued throughout ninth and tenth grade because of all the work the teachers assigned. I stopped writing and reading for fun, I only wrote and read for school.…

Do you remember when you were a little kid and you had to climb on your counter-top to reach a cabinet? I remember it as if it was yesterday, maybe because it really was. All my life I have been dramatically smaller than all my peers. I have always been ostracized for the fact of my height which, in fact I have no jurisdiction over . I have always lived by the motto “Heart over height” in every aspect of life, and in every endeavor I encounter.…

It couldn’t have been past 10 a.m. when the alarm went off. We all knew what it meant- we were firefighters, it’s what we do. The fire chief told us that an apartment complex in downtown Boston had gone ablaze, and that it was really bad. We quickly got into our uniforms and hopped on as the fire truck left the station. We were a few miles away before I saw the smoke, a dark giant against the bright blue sky.…

Last night my dog bit me! My dad about shot him in the head with a shotgun, but I told him not to because that Bruiser, my dog, is too stupid to know what he did. He still wanted to shoot him in the face so I stood in front of Bruiser and told my dad to lower his weapon. I knew he would because I’m his baby girl and I can get anything I want, but I don’t do that because then I would be a spoiled brat and no one wants that.…

Every Thursday at 3:30pm I get into my dad's Air Force blue, 2005 Ford Explorer, and I am filled with a nausea of excitement. My anticipation cuts through the mixture of country music and old rock ‘n’ roll filling in the car. I am aware that once we park the car at 220 Geiger Road in front of Doc Bresler’s Cavity Busters, that I will be forced to overcome a new obstacle. As a child I was always intellectually curious, musically inclined, athletically challenged, and hungry.…

I have saved the lives of at least 6 people in my life, here the story. I was delivering milk into a liquor store and saw the street apt windows ,2nd floor, implode. I ran upstairs and found a bunch of spt dwellers standing in the hallway with the manage frantically saying that she couldn\'t get into the room because she couldn\'t open the locked from the inside door.. I had no room to move so I said, \"stand back I\'m going to break the door down\" As I did so, I created what I believe is called a backdraft, or a flash up. Have you ever wished that you had listened to your mom or dad when they asked you to promise to not do something or go somewhere? Well, that reminds me of the time when my mom said “Promise to come straight home from school, do not pass go, do not collect two hundred dollars, come straight home right after school, and make sure you put on a helmet”. I know that I will never break a promise to my mom again. It was a hot summer day after school.…
