Personal Narrative: Lock The Kittens Up For The Night

Decent Essays
One evening when my baby sister Courtany and I were outside I decided to lock the kittens up for the night.
I started calling for Midnight and got no response. Next out of the corner of my eye, I saw my dog Bear by Midnight. I ran as fast as I could over there, got Midnight put him in the shed by his Mom (Socks.) Socks started feeding, and, cleaning Midnight, along with his other five brothers, and sisters.
Then after I got Midnight situated I ran to the house for help. I got my Mom told he what had happened, and we ran back outside, to the shed where Midnight was. My Mom told me to “go in the house get a clean cool whip dish tear up a couple pieces of bread. Then put in some milk, then put it in the microwave for about twenty-five seconds.”

Noisy Mittens!! For three nights last summer, we heard what sounded like a baby crying from the driveway that runs behind the houses on my street. Then one morning, my dad saw a kitten run underneath our neighbor’s car parked in the driveway. He went over to the car and tried to get the kitten to come out from under the car while my sister and I watched from the deck.…

The first time I ever shot a deer came as a tremendous surprise to me. It happened about four years ago. I had hunted for a while before that, but that was the first year that I actually took it seriously and I got my gun safety license so I could shoot. It was the second weekend in rifle season, so it was empty in the woods and quiet.…

At last, we emerged into the designated cat room. From floor to ceiling there stood 2-part cages for the cats to pace in, and an elongated bowl split in half, one half for food, and the other for water. It was significantly quieter than the dog’s room, and all that was to be heard was the sound of a short grey-haired woman with circular glasses telling an interested buyer not to hold the cats a certain way. Immediately to our left was one of the biggest domestic cats I’d ever seen. A regal looking black feline covered in scars sat with his paws folded, striking yellow eyes half closed as he seemed to stare us down.…

I was fast asleep at home in a small town called Belarus, I kept waking up throughout the night from loud sounds of wind clashing with the leaves on the tree’s, in my mind I kept thinking something bad was going to happen, most of the Nazi’s were taking over Germany and invading most Jews house. I thought to myself if I pretend to not be a Jew I might not be put in a concentration camp, but then a thought to myself “what’s the point of doing that” they’re going to see me with my parents that look very much Jewish. And as Hitler said “being a Jew isn’t your religion it’s your blood”, I forced myself to stop thinking about everything, closed my eyes and forced myself to sleep. 2/7/1944 I woke up in a carriage with my parents nowhere to be seen, I immediately started to panic and cry, in my mind I told myself “I knew we we’re going to get caught, it was only a matter of time”. I was squashed up with a bunch of…

When I was about 5 or 6 years old I was obsessed with my cat Spike who probably hated me (still probably does). Spike is a smaller black cat that was so jumpy and energetic it was almost like he was a spring that never stopped bouncing. My 6-year-old self-didn't grasp the concept that animals didn’t like to be grabbed and treated as a toy, so naturally, I carried him all around the house like a baby as he tried to get released from my grasp. On one sunny Californian February day, my dad and I were just running around the house and messing around like we usually did and I decided that I should pick up the cat like a baby with his paws conveniently near my face. As I ran down the hall with the cat in my arms, my dad jumped out from a corner…

A windy Tuesday early morning in 2009, Los Angeles still slept from the celebration-filled Fourth of July weekend. But my family was abruptly woken. I was in the seventh grade. I lived with my parents and two sisters in our humble home in the Pico neighborhood of Los Angeles, a pride-filling reward for the years of hard-work and dedication of my parents, both exiles from the tumultuous Central American country of Honduras. They came chasing the American Dream and yearning to be free from poverty.…

Throughout my life I feel like their are many different cages that people are trapped in, and they have no idea what to do about it. These different cages can really have an impact on someone's life because they could be holding them back from what the want to do or accomplish. In my life I realized that I'm in a cage as well as a lot of people may be in. One cage that I think I'm stuck in is society setting a lot of different standards and expectations that people think that you have follow and abide by and if they don't their considered doing the wrong thing in life. I think that I find myself in this cage because all of the standards that society sets makes it hard to live and chase your own dreams that you want to do but you can't pursue them because you won't be following the way everyone else is expecting you to live your life.…

My Cat Pochacco August of 2001 my mom brought home a small kitten in a tall box that contained a small half and half bowl of food and water. My sister decided to name him Pochacco, because it was her favorite Sanrio character, but the only thing is that this Sanrio character was a white and black dog, so personally I didn’t find this very suitable. “Poh-choc-co” is the way you would sound out his name, but I always just called him Kitty since it’s much easier to say. Pochacco was a black and white cat with vibrant green eyes.…
