From a young age, we’re taught to accept and respect one another. What I’ve learned in my life so far is that that is not always the case. I was born with an orthopedic disability, which made walking, a basic function for many, extremely painful and difficult for me. I have faced bullies, unwilling doctors, and the dark places of the mind. I have also never felt more inspired to help others and change how others see people with disabilities.
