Looking back on it, on how I got to where I am. I don't know how i did it, when you run into something ,with the power to knock you down- you get back up! I've considered myself a sort of mellow guy, but I can be very intense. It's funny because you can't tell by looking at me. Most people say they can't read me, but I think i am a fairly simple guy.…
The hardest thing I’ve ever went through? Let me take you back to almost three years ago to a very cold Thursday morning in January. I was sitting in history class when suddenly something very strange happened; the announcement speakers came on. To most people it would seem like it was a very typical day to day event to listen to announcements; but at my school announcements were rarely ever said. My classroom got completely silent; to the point where you could have heard a pin drop.…
The transition from High School can often times be very frustrating for students. L. Lennie Irvin opened my eyes to one of the bad habits I picked up on in High school. The habit of straying from the topic or theme could cause me to fail not only papers in English but my other courses as well. I personally had a hard time with English my first semester of college. In High school I was always at the top of my class and my teachers would tell me how great of a writer I was.…
Before high school, I always thought I was an average student, but when I transitioned into high school, people started to point out that I had potential. I began to work harder than I had ever before and I began to accelerate in every course. This never took a toll on me till the tenth grade, when my mental health started degrading. Anxiety was my first foe. During the beginning of the tenth grade, I had set high expectations for myself and it began to affect my life greatly For instance, after finishing the test, I would think about just one specific question that I thought I completed wrong.…
If I had said this to my boss either one of these statements they may not fire me right away but they might keep a mental note of my actions use it against me at another time. The best scenario in my opinion is to do the best job that you can that way you release some of the pressure from your self because you were instructed to do so. I believe that hardest thing for me is finish things it could be simple or difficult but for whatever reason I don’t finish well. Now that I am in college I can look back and say I should have been in school a long time ago.…
Hardworking, trustworthy, selfless, determined, and helpful… I believe that I have demonstrated these qualities exceptionally throughout my high school career. A glimpse at my exquisite grades that I have kept in four years of challenging classes reveals not only my effort, but my endless determination as well. Despite all of the energy that I directed towards my own success at school, I was always willing to help others who struggled in their classes, especially in math and science. Also, I put time and effort into my extracurricular activities in order to benefit my school’s community. I painted a mural of the Mt. Hope Bridge to beautify a conference room, helped plan countless events for the entire student body, from spirit weeks to…
The rest of the year was great to me, I finally saw the rainbow. I gained many new friends and I was/am doing fairly well in my classes. I overcame an obstacle of mine that was really large, and I am proud of myself for doing so. I finally got to see what it looks like when the clouds part. I went from being a stress mess to a straight success (maybe not success yet, but soon).…
Track and field has been the highlight of my high school life. The social aspect, the large assortment of events from which to choose, and the people I met are things I will always treasure. I especially loved the fact that there was always a place for everyone. If you weren’t too quick, then discus was your event. If you could build up quick bursts of speed, long and triple jumps suited you.…
Freshmen year was honestly pretty good I had a lot of friends and had a lot of fun in my classes with them, going into Brunswick High School I was a little bit nervous just the fact I would be at the bottom of the totem pole now and would possibly be picked on by the older kids but it turned out to be just a myth, but some of them were definitely scary looking. Some other things I was afraid of was what the class load would be like I didn't know exactly how much tougher it would be but it honestly wasn't to much tougher than middle school. The teachers here were fairly nice didn't have many problems with them but they did definitely hold your behavior to a higher standard. High school was a change from middle school definitely just because…
Sensory Details - Sight - Sound - Touch - Taste - Smell Today is the day that i become a high school student and i’m a little nervous. Being a Freshman is something everyone dreads on the first day. The sun is still hot and bright from summer weather, i can feel the sweat dripping off my forehead. The big yellow bus pulls up to my stop and dust starts flying in the air.…
High school changes people. They express themselves, become opinionated, and they start to look at the world differently as they experience things they have never encountered before. A wise Oliver Wendell Holmes said, “Man’s mind stretched to a new idea never goes back to its original dimensions.” This quote is an excellent way to describe my experience in high school.…
I have involved myself in high school in many ways that I could. As far as athletics go, I have played volleyball and I am currently Vice President of the POM squad at Putnam City North. I served as class Vice President freshman year, class treasurer sophomore year, and I continue to serve as class treasurer for the juniors. I am also a junior representative officer for the PCN National Honor Society. In my high school career, I have been involved in various clubs such as Key Club, Spanish Club, and Ping Pong Club.…
I cannot tell the future, but I have a good idea of what I want to do and where I will be. Ever since I have been little I have always found joy in helping others, knowing that I had done a good deed has always brought a smile to my face. My initial thought when I was younger was I wanted to fly planes, not as a commercial pilot, but for the Air Force. Later on I realized that I couldn’t help too many people while flying in a plane so I looked to joining the Army with the ultimate goal of helping those who cannot protect themselves and keep my home safe and I still believe in those reasons today.…
I remember my days in high school like it was yesterday. My freshman year I didn’t really know anyone at my school because I was new to the area. Once the school year got started I began to make friends and to be known around the school. So as most people say now I look like a basketball player, back in my younger days I used to play all sports like basketball, football, and baseball. So I had decided to try out for the basketball team.…
Personal Narrative I have been to three different schools throughout my entire life. These schools have shaped me into what i am today. I have always thought that everything happens for a reason. Going to these three different schools has led me to where I am today. I’ve experienced a lot throughout the past couple of years.…
