If I win more fights I win, the more popular I become. I’ve been in fights that I want to. Now in retrospect, I realize it was smart not to fight back. My brothers always tried to make me stronger and protected me. At a young age, I realized that I hated any type of violence. When I was about six or seven I learned what a pacifist was. People always used it to describe themselves, but were quick to watch or be in a fight. I enjoyed learning about MLK Jr. in school. He changed a country without killing a person or attacking anyone. The Germans followed him, this lead to the Germans killing millions of people. After World War II ended people were scared that Germany would rise up and begin another war. Other countries helped Germany and Japan rebuild so another World War wouldn’t happen for a third time. The world is a better place with peace. My brother’s friend tells me the “Thoughts and ideas are peaceful, but history is violent.” History proves that violence only creates more violence but peace creates peace. One person who I follow by his words and ideas is Mahatma Gandhi. He was the MLK Jr. of his time. MLK Jr. words were based on Gandhi’s. My favorite quote by Gandhi is “An eye for an eye will leave the world blind.” I follow this quote to help me choose better decisions. Last year I was spit on I decided to not fight and making it worse for me. I calmed down, then went to tell someone. If I fought him it would only of created more violence between me and him. preached nonviolence to achieve his civil rights agenda, Malcolm X gave a voice to the rage of millions of black Americans. Malcolm X emerged as an alternative voice to Dr. King and grew the Nation of Islam from 400 members to 4,000 from his time in prison to 1952, a testament to the success of his charisma and gift as an orator (Biography para. 10). Because of his aversion to nonviolent revolution, I believe that his legacy is not as realized in American politics to the same extent as Martin Luther King…
