This year I would play Junior Varsity instead of Middle School Basketball. Before the season started, I looked up LeBron James’ high school stats. My goal for the season was to have stats identical to LeBron’s, which would mean I would have to have an amazing year. I had an amazing year. It was the first year I recorded a double-double (two statistical categories in double digits ex. 10 points and 10 rebounds), the first year I recorded a triple-double (three statistical categories in double digits ex. 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists) which I did twice, the first year a got a 4-point-play (score four points in possession), and my favorite, the first year I dunked. The most important accomplishment I attained that season was that we were playoff champions. I finished the year with the League MVP, Playoff MVP, 21 points per game, 10 rebounds per game, and 6 assists per game.
After the season ended, I put my stats on a college recruiting website. A few weeks after, my mother and I got a call from a college scout. He told my mom, “What an amazing student-athlete you have. 3.8 GPA who also has great basketball skills. And these stats. I haven’t seen numbers like these since LeBron
