Learning how to drive. It was senior year of high school and there were so many events to attend to. Since my classmates and friends are going to different schools and different paths they want to go to it was really important to attend those events. So, I pushed myself and whenever I had a free time I would call my brothers and dad to teach me how to drive. The first time I drive around was in my neighborhood with my dad. I was really nervous and I remember that I was driving really slow and my dad even put the emergency lights on. After hours and weeks of practicing my brothers and dad told me I was ready. So my dad and I went to DMV and after a long wait a lady suddenly called my name. My heart was beating so fast so I took a deep breath …show more content…
These are the words my family kept on telling me and I myself agree. I remember when I was a kid that I always wear stethoscope around my neck to hear my mom's heartbeats. Moving to Reno, Nevada was one of the most life changing moment in my life because it had given me a lot opportunities. Meting people with the same interest as you is astonishing because it resulted me to become more confident with people. In high school my science classes taught me what the human body does and do and also resulted that science was my favorite subject. However, graduating in high school I still want to pursue my dreams and still want to answer my own questions by discovering it on my own. Awarding a scholarship would mean the world to me. It would make my dreams become a reality by becoming a future ophthalmologist someday. It would also help my parents because having to live with 7 people in one roof is really difficult for them to get food in the table. But realizing that they are just doing it for us; for my brothers, myself, and my grandparents. Their hard work and sacrifice for us is enough because they have been doing it for a long time now and I want to change that because I want them to realize that I'm here to make them proud and I also want to help the m someday when I'm done with

After five hours under Mrs. Gonzalez’s 1997 Plymouth, my hands were so dirty I had to wash them ten times just to see my fingernails again. She was a familiar face around the shop, given that neighborhood thieves had routinely targeted her car. This time, though, they had gone too far. Someone had crawled underneath the car and cut out the valuable catalytic converter, and she couldn’t afford a replacement. When I looked at her and said, “That’ll be $563,” her face turned pale.…

The alarm goes off at 8:15 AM like every morning. I roll out of bed, shower, slap on some sunscreen, put on my uniform, and head to work. Getting there, of course, is simple. I hop in the car, punch the button to start the engine, put the windows down to feel the summer breeze, plug in my phone to blast my go-to driving playlist, and I’m ready. Before I set off to lifeguard, a voice reminds me of what my grandma said when I first began driving, “I’m not afraid of you driving, I’m afraid of other drivers.”…
