Lacy Blue's brother, Austin Blue, has tried to keep her on a tight rein. Now back from college, she's ready to try out her independence in Heat Springs, Texas, and Trey Farley and Derek Adams, shape- shifters and successful landscape architects, are the guys she wants to have fun with. They've asked her to marry them, but she's turned them down over and over. Recently, after a wedding night party for some of their friends, Trey and Derek were seriously injured and taken to the hospital. Lacy spends most of the night waiting at the hospital to find out if they'll be all right. She realizes then how important Trey and Derek have become to her and how much she loves them. Things get serious when Trey and Derek become involved in a fight at her
